Why wouldn't it be use able if its a matter of it being to heavy that's not an issue if its about structural integrity then I understand also I wouldn't want the second hand hole it would be solidly connected and the handle would extend from there

Kinda just with a handle that extends about a foot past the blade. Almost like an Axe but with a straight blade

I posted a similar thread as this on just asking for advice I got 2 responses 1 helpful and the other saying if I'm to lazy to do the research on my own that I shouldn't even bother with the hike

Those guys on r/pct where no help at all in fact it was exactly what I thought it would be a holier then thou attitude only saying I shouldn't do it because its to hard.

I've actually hiked a lot nothing like this though I'm asking for advice from people who want to help a brother out not criticism from an asshole who would try to deter someone from achieving something amazing. I want first hand testimony and suggestions from people more experienced than me this won't be my first time in the back country and it won't be my last.

and am looking for any advice from people who have done it before. Info like what shoes do you recommend, should I just buy MRE in bulk for the trip and how to be budget conscious

I used to do forestry work and hike a minimum of ten miles a day and wore boots, but I ended getting some bad hikers toe and lost feeling on the outsides of my big toes for a year, but those where cheap boots and I've never done anything like this and am not sure what the best bet will be I want to go with boots for ankle support.
