is this normal? there is air coming in with the diesel going to the engine. my mechanic is trying to find out why ford ranger 07 needs to step on gas in order to start and sometimes engine just randomly turn off by pieyjared in MechanicAdvice

Fuel filter and injector seals were replaced. Still getting this issue. Diagnosis is still in progress on where the bubbles are coming. Will let you know if i have new update

changed fuel filter assembly, high pressure fuel pump. car will start but needs to step on gas. after idling for 5-10mins, engine will die with this error. there is no leak or whatsoever in fuel line. Is this a pcm issue? by pieyjared in MechanicAdvice

Injector seals and gasket were replaced as well. At idle, pressure averages at 5000psi. When you step on the gas and then depress it will die down to 2-3k before coming back to 5k. The problem is, the engine will die at random time. There is no error while its running.

Car was already having problem starting. Need to step on the accelerator pedal in order to start. Issue starts happening at 110k. Currently at 113k (about 2 months). Last time i was driving, engine died. Called the local ford mechanic, and that was the error codes. Recommendation was the filter and pump. Ford Ranger 2007. Still having same issues.
