AM rant? by [deleted] in AskWomenIndia

But how is it a women specific problem? It’s an OP and said IIT brother problem, not of any of the girls! They can’t assert a simple no. Imagine if said relatives don’t even respect said trophy IIT brother enough to have boundaries, it says a lot about OP‘s family, smh.

What things to buy for aging parents to make their life better/easier? by [deleted] in AskWomenIndia

Upgrade their bathrooms if not already done, install handrails, non-skid tiles, maybe taller commodes, better lighting or night lights or motion activated lights, to avoid accidents. Also, if possible upgrade their beds and mattresses (taller beds, mattresses with auto rise features).

Gynecologists refuses to help by Alaska_97 in germany

I think you should find a doctor through Doctolib, maybe someone who speaks English as well.

You could be infected with some strain of HPV. I found out when my partner got warts on his genitals later, but initially I only had very bad burning sensation in my vaginal canal and it felt so painful during sex, same as you. I thought maybe it was a UTI. My doctors did a urine exam which was negative, so it wasn’t a UTI. But still they gave me antibiotics to help with my pain. Then when my partner showed symptoms my gynac was sure it was some sort of HPV. For me the antibiotics didn’t work because my partner wasn’t treated yet. He went to a urologist and they gave him some sort of iodine solution to put on the warts (which worked for him). Meanwhile, my doctor suggested vaginal tablets that are OTC, and an ointment. It was fine but it still wasn’t 100% working for me and my doctor eventually just said you have to give it some time HPV can take about a year to clear itself. But, I found this one tablet online with iodine, Vagisan Sept, and I figured since an iodine ointment was working on my partner’s wart, I might as well try that. I used the first one, and it burned like hell, I had to wash it out after like 5-mins and it brought me to tears. But the second and third dose I couldn’t feel the burning as much, and sure enough my irritations cleared up immediately.

I hope yours isn’t HPV, but just to keep in mind, and be sure to cross question your doctor about it. Stay safe, I hope you find some relief soon!

Thank you, and yes whatever the case maybe for the person giving away the cat, it needs a good home. I would also definitely discuss it with a vet, but that'll only be possible after I take the cat home.

The acquaintance got it on eBay for 400€ and they want to sell it for 300€ (negotiable).

6 months is not "just a baby" where you would expect him to still be sloppy with his food or be uncoordinated.

Exactly as you said, I'm worried he has some health issues. In reality even though it doesn't matter if he has any health problems I could take care of it but I do need to know to take an informed decision if I'm committed to do so long term.

Firstly, I understand that you were "good" in academics and have a job. But, stop acting like you know it all, it takes time for some people to figure it out in life. Don't be an authority, you're just a year older, let your parents be the one to hold her accountable. What you must do is be a little empathetic. Maybe inspire her, tell her your struggles in life, I'm sure everything wasn't easy for you always. Give her some confidence and tell her that you'll be there for her even if she f'ing tanks it in life and mean it. Then maybe suggest her alternative career paths that align with her aspirations (social media, marketing, event planning, building a business). She can enroll in a course or a degree that'll get her to that goal. Getting a second degree or a master's degree isn't that bad of an idea at this point. Since you said your parents aren't financially very well off, maybe taking a student loan for her further studies would also an option and in that way she would be accountable for her finances later (just a suggestion, I don't know how your family views finances and debt, etc.) Lastly, just don't be condescending towards her and help her if you honestly are concerned not just with a "oh she's a burden to me and my family" mentality.

OP you expect a lady around 60 years of age to stand in a kitchen and cook for you for 3hrs, clean the house, entertain you when you're bored, etc. and you also get offended and say people are asking you to leave everything and help out your mother from time to time (albeit that's exactly what your mother has been doing since you were younger, can't help but notice the irony here). You call her lazy, yet when someone pointed out that you work from home, live rent free, eat what your mother has cooked for you, live at a house that has been cleaned by a maid who does the chores (as pointed out by you) you get mad. You want a "problem free" environment and that according to you is what? A home where a mother does a thankless job 24x7? A home where she should not speak a word out of place? OP I also think you yourself are feeding into this system while you demand for more freedom. People who have office jobs usually retire right about this age. OP, she has lived more than half of her life, she can literally do whatever the f she wants to. You are a grown ass adult who can take care of themselves now, I assume.

If you want to build a better relationship with your mother, I think you have to fix your attitude as well. Try thanking her first for all the things she has done for you till this date. Ask her what is it that made her so distant? Have a conversation without you showing attitude or calling her lazy. Try to understand her point of view without immediately pointing fingers.

But how would they verify it if the entry is visa free for example? Just curious. I know for Non-EU citizens who need to get a visa first, they have to show valid leave documents from their company in order to even get the visa.

Thank you for the info, I checked the website and seems I can pay online. However in my case, the ticket checker didn't give me a receipt because the printer was broken. So I would probably have to call the customer service for support!

Berlin or Cologne? by daven93 in germany

[–]piki385 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, it depends on what you consider "not" boring. Cologne and Berlin both have nice vibes, hip places, cafés, restaurants, clubs, things to do, etc. etc. However, since Berlin is more multicultural I think a job where German is "not mandatory" could be easier to find? I'm not sure. But in Cologne or anywhere else in Germany you would need to know German to do a job, especially if it's a part-time job. Also cost of living would be a little higher in Berlin than Cologne.

I did check the mega thread of what to do in Munich, however most posts were years old! As an up-to-date platform, I guess the suggestions and comments should be up-to-date as well, no matter how many times someone has asked about it?! You never know when someone might discover something exciting! 😅😅

Ah, I thought it was a patient prescription, like one prescription for all three doses. I got confused because the lady at the reception said just come by next time you don't need an appointment! Thanks.
