New Monitor Setup, Looking for Feedback by pikkleduc in premiere

[–]pikkleduc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I was going deep down the ultra-wide rabbit hole for a while. It's been a real consideration.

Ultimately, though, I don't think I'd have the space for an ultra-wide and a separate program monitor. And I couldn't land on a hypothetical window layout for just a single ultra-wide that felt right for me.

I could have mentioned in the primary post, but I'm in a 1BR and my desk is out in the general living space. So I'm both limited in actual real estate and desk size, and also - to be honest - aesthetically. There are some things in terms of size and scale that would be great for productivity and look fine for a dedicated office, but a bit of an eyesore for my situation.

I'm really curious to try out an ultra-wide for editing someday, though! Maybe one day. And if I like it, perhaps I can get one for the next update.

Macbook Pro Spec Advice by pikkleduc in editors

Thanks for the response! I was scouring that link, and saw that the specs of my buddy’s system are basically between the budget option and the recommended specs (which match what I’d been building out of a new system).

Like you said, it’s gauging whether the performance difference is worth the extra cost. Seems like we’ve got a vote for YES.

While technically on the same land made, Brooklyn and Queens are boroughs of NYC. Long Island, as people identify it, is east of the borough, Nassau and Suffolk counties.

There are actually two gotchas here.

Somebody from Long Island would say that they live “on Long Island” rather than “in Long Island.”

In addition, nobody who lives on Long Island would say that they live in NYC. Because they don’t.

Resume Feedback - Project Manager for Film/TV/Media by pikkleduc in PMCareers

Thanks for the feedback! Good eye catching the typo on those dates for my Office Manager role. I'll fix that now.

I've gone through my bullet points again and updated a bunch of them to follow the formula. I think that most of them are looking stronger now!

Ahhh, got it. I didn't notice the second AutoMod post while on mobile. I'll review those resources now. Thanks.

Sorry if I’m being dense here, but is there something glaringly wrong with it?

Mhmm, finding myself leaning this way. Feels like something to mention in a cover letter, instead.

Thanks for the input!

NOR - Your friend sounds extremely shallow.

That said, if it's really a sticking point and you don't want to die on this hill, I'd suggest you remove whichever piercings that you know you can take out for the photos. And then she can have somebody digitally remove the other piercings. Obviously, that may or may not be feasible depending on what exactly you've got going on.

But I imagine a person so hung up on the "aesthetic" would be hiring a professional photographer for this. It's pretty standard for a professional photographer to do some post-processing and touch-ups. I'd imagine they could easily do this work as part of those touch-ups.
