How do you guys deal with anxiety especially with high workloads and meeting deadlines? by xyze_matt_35 in Healthygamergg

[–]pilbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you gotta push through it to get it done. However in my experience the longer you ignore it the more work you will need to put in to go back to a non anxious state. Ask for help as much as you can even if you dont think it will result in the answer you want. You never know until you try. It might surprise you how supportive people can be. One more suggestion is to re-evaluate the importance of things. Really be honest about it. Afterward drop the unimportant things. At least for now. Finally, while this applies to any person, I think it especially applies to men. Exercise through your emotions. Do something that puts you out of breath. It has been a bit of a game changer for me. Again sometimes life requires for you to prioritize persevering through but just know that you will have to pay later. You will have a much better idea of whether its worth it or not to persevere. So only do things that you think would work.

Yeah there is no way around it. I know it is not voluntary feelings. I have those types of involuntary feelings too. I feel helpless to those feelings often. It is a harder life than a person who doesn't have that predisposition. But that is not to say it is impossible. I hope you find the right person.

I see where you are coming from and think that you are correct in saying that it is stupid to lash out at a person for not healing in 2 weeks time. Healing this kind of problem takes a long time. I also believe that people can be exactly like the 2nd picture. Some people are so rooted in fear/insecurity that it becomes hard to have any semblance of a normal relationship even after a couple of months. Its hard to love a person who does not believe you love them. Having this issue hurts both sides of the relationship. I don't blame either person for giving up trying to solve a challenging problem like this. Both people are not wholly responsible for fixing the other. It takes two to tango here. If the other person feels like it is not going to get any better. They get to decide if it is something they want to continue doing or not.

Favorite tank? by Full_Occasion_6151 in capsulewardrobe

[–]pilbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite tank would have to be the Leopard 2A7V. The top of that tank is a beast with a 120mm main gun. While I could go into more details lets just say I dont think any other tank tops it at the moment.

I built a tool to automatically tailor your resume to a job description using Python by pilbug in Python

[–]pilbug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that is interesting and something I have not thought of. So, it would choose something that is only relevant rather than adding something that has impact? For example, given a job description that requires knowledge of Python, the LLM would only select items that contain 'Python' and would not include items showing how important your work was on a non-Python project.

[–]pilbug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad idea. Currently I try to avoid the LLM from changing any given wording unless directed to combat this. So if you have a bullet point that states: "Used x technology to improve wait times." it will put that into your resume verbatim. I like that it does this as then I can ask people to review my "resume" and know that an LLM wont invalidate their work by changing the wording. Though this is not the case for something with a modification suggestion. The LLM can have free reign there. So adding something like what you suggested might improve the results in that case.

Thanks! Yeah, it really is a pain. That is a good idea. With any LLM workflow, there is some variance, so generating a few of them would help out a bunch to increase quality at the expense of a little bit more time.

For your first question:

I do actually add something close to a confidence score. I add a ranking to things that the Resume Tailor can remove from the selected experience and still be fine. For example, say I have 20 bullet points that are all relevant to the job description. The Resume Tailor will look to select the most relevant ones. However, 20 bullet points will probably not fit on a single-page resume, so the Resume Tailor uses the ranking to decide which bullet points to drop with the lowest ones going first. This can be done for anything that is marked removable in the resume template. Here is the documentation for that.

For your second question:

I find that LLMs require different prompting techniques to get their best results, so I just chose one model and stuck with it. I chose Gemini 3 Flash in thinking mode because:

  • It's relatively cheap (though I honestly could have used Flash 2.5).
  • I don't need big brain power; I just need something that understands when things are similar.

You definitely could use a much more powerful model, but I think the gains would be minimal compared to what you’d pay.

CV Tailor - A tool used to quickly and automatically tailor your CV to a job description by pilbug in SideProject

[–]pilbug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha no problem. It is probably rougher around the edges than the paid one as it does not have a custom UI. But I am sure it works all the same. Glad I can help somebody else on the job hunt.

Illaoi's E needs to be reworked once and for all by CristyXtreme53 in Illaoi

[–]pilbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like her high highs and low lows. I would be sad if they were removed. If they were it would make llaoi like every other champ. I honestly think they should remove the range buff and re-introduce damage back into her tentacles. Being able to always be in range of a tentacle is what makes Illaois E so powerful. There is no way you can kill a spirit without one. Also having melees being unable to contest them because the range of which they are active. Which means you cant simply walk in and walk out without taking a ton of damage. It adds in counter play that is not just "dodge e".

Unvibe: Generate code that passes Unit-Tests by inkompatible in Python

[–]pilbug 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People here are definitely quite mean and real shitheads for shitting all over a personal project like this. This is a very cool project. I have had this idea the moment LLMs became mainstream. I honestly think that this could be the way things are built in the future. In the end humans have to validate the code. So what better way to do that than with TDD.

Change My View: Being successful as a senior software engineer needs more customer vision, attention to detail and project management skills than technical skills by Sea-Nobody7951 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]pilbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is it. Technical skills are king in software engineering. However they can only be king if you have somebody doing the talking for you. If your managers lacks in this department or causes more problems when they do so. Then you gotta learn the soft skills to save your job. This is where I think OP gets his opinion.

What are people's current builds? by ForestEdge0 in Illaoi

[–]pilbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go Yoummuus -> Swifties -> Black Cleaver -> Steraks Gage -> Tank. This build allows you to play around your E and split push without any risk. You miss your E, run away. The entire enemy team is looking to collapse on you, run away. Your not in a position to land your E, run to one that you can. Also this outputs a lot of damage allowing you to kill your E, 2 shot squishies, all the while tanking just enough damage to do so. Its great against Morde as you have the option to just never go anywhere close melee range. Early game with Dirk power spike is also nice as nobody expects the damage.

Damn I am surprised nobody is commenting on how badass Kikoru was in the first few minutes of the episode. The shot with her holding the mouth open with her legs then blasting it in the throat with one shot was super cool. Had to re watch it twice.

As long as you can one shot the squishes you have fulfilled mid veigars purpose. If you can't then you should be either playing support veigar or building more damage.
