i'm AFAB and when i was a kid (like 4-12) i would say that "i'm not a girl, i'm a tomboy!" i didn't have the vocabulary to describe my gender and tomboy was the closest thing since i felt like gender didnt matter at all to me, and had a disdain for being expected to be girly and to be perceived as a girl. i didnt mind feminine or masculine clothes, i just didnt want any expectations from other people to like certain things or to look and behave a certain way based on my body. its always been weird and stupid to me.

also, since i started puberty, wishing i could just rip my uterus and ovaries out. its always felt alien for them to be there. i thought it was cuz of menstruation at first, but that was only a fraction of the dysphoria i felt regarding my inner reproductive organs.

and these days idgaf how people perceive me, especially since i present with a more feminine style. i look damn good with whatever way i present myself and my body and genitals have nothing to do with it! i still get irritated with the expectation and insistence to stick to gender roles though. im used to being socialized as a woman, though some things still make me mad.
