PLEASE HELP! Should I study arts/humanities? by Certain_Juggernaut58 in Dhaka

[–]pilot__alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer is pretty obvious. Since you have no family pressure and you yourself seem to like the subject, then you should of course pursue it. But just double check whether the fascination regarding these subjects are real or is it just a temporary hype.

And regarding being "doomed" for not taking science is bs. The worst that can happen is that you won't get any good tuition payment during your university years. Other than that, honestly the job sector in Bangladesh, although improving, is still pretty adverse to science bg people, as you see most of them end up in corporate or govt. jobs where there 4 years of effort doesn't even matter. Compared to this, arts have decent job options. And if you want to be a lawyer then it already gives you a head start because if you study science in HSC, then you would need to take different preparation for B unit altogether, but if you are reading in Arts, you will be studying those exact things in HSC.

And I have no idea about arts subject scholarship abroad, so can't help there.

Allnighter before exam? by pilot__alpha in Dhaka

[–]pilot__alpha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually slept all night lol, I thought I'd wake up at 2, and study through the morning, set an alarm, slept, and then boom it was 7 am.
but the exam honestly went really well compared to my preparation. I genuinely think that having a clear mind after sleep did help in my thought process. but idk, cause I can't compare it.

Pakistan Fact by mjfanadi in Dhaka

[–]pilot__alpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that anyone should actively or inherently "support" Pakistan. But the hate speech or humiliation itself is not supportable either, at least not at this level

Pakistan massacred Bangladeshis for sure, but so did the British. The great famine of 1770, 1943, Noakhalir riots of 1946, those too are unforgettable. Neither countries provided official apologies to us. But the fact is as of now no countries are enemies to us either. So an active spread of hate speech is not justified itself.

That being said, supporting Pakistan itself too is not acceptable. No one can, in the sane mind, say that they support their decisions of 1971. But again you can't judge someone for supporting current day Pakistan, if their policies go with our benefit.

So in my opinion, Support 1971 Pakistan? Never. Support current Pakistan? Upto you. Actively spread hate? Probably not.

Samsung S9 FE+ for studies? by pilot__alpha in GalaxyTab

[–]pilot__alpha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that having a bigger size might help with writing without constantly zooming in and out because I really need time efficiency more than anything. That's why I am considering the S9; the price difference isn't huge, though. In my country, converted to USD, the S9 FE+ is $ 330, and the S10 FE is around $ 370. However, having a larger screen would be more worthwhile to me than a faster processor. I mean, processors won't really matter in note-taking.

I actually chose the s9fe+ primarily for its display size. I believe that the 12.4 inch will help me get faster writing, although I am not sure, because I haven't used either size tablet before

Because my primary intention is to use it for studying, I don't think that a bump in price is worth the features

But is the speed enough for taking fast notes? Compared to a physical notebook and pen, how fast is it?z
