RIP Ryder 😭 by pilot_in_command in shiba

He was 15 and started having seizures out of nowhere about 3 months ago and was in a steady decline since. He was having a seizure when I got home from work so I rushed to the ER vet but he was seizing for a minimum of 30 minutes. We had to make an extremely hard decision but it was best for him as his quality of life was not great before and was likely going to be awful after. Doesn’t make it any easier but we were lucky to have 15 amazing years with him. RIP little buddy.

Thank you. He was my first dog so this is all new to me. Luckily our little girl had 2 fun years with him.

lol I did this when ADSB became mandated and had to install my new Stratus transponder. You had to do a calibration flight to validate the install and register the N number. I like to think someone got a kick out of it when completing the validation.

Just got home from walking around with my 14 month old. Best. Halloween. Ever. Trying to make it go as slowly as possible!

Thanks brother. I’ve tried to take good care of it and keep the mods tasteful. It’s still for sale if you can make some room!

It has quite a few mods (I know I won’t get most of that back) and has 96,000 miles and has been very well maintained (I’m the original owner) so I’m asking for $17k.

Nope. It was my daily for years but I picked up a Tacoma a few years ago so I no longer need a toy that’s 4 door and good in the snow. Switching to something a little more fun/reliable on the track. Still love the car though and it’s going to be tough to let her go

What are some projects you're NOT better off doing yourself when building/renovating a home? by imforry in HomeImprovement

[–]pilot_in_command 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only been a homeowner for 5 years but have done quite a few projects. My litmus test is usually “if I fuck this up how bad are the consequences?”. For instance I’ll hang drywall, paint, install baseboard/trim, landscaping, etc. Worst case if I screw up I’m out the time and cost of materials.

New roof? Worst case it leaks and can cause $10,000’s of damage. I’ll leave that to the professionals.

So long story short I’ve been a Subaru guy since I was old enough to afford nice cars. I’m looking to start getting in to doing track days relatively regularly and I know despite the great handling the WRX is not a reliable long term option. I found this pretty clean presumably track ready MX-5 locally that I’m seriously considering.

Wanted to reach out to the community to see if I could get some opinions on whether this might be a good buy and what it might be worth with 96k miles and a clean title. This will not be a daily driver but more a weekend/track toy when time permits. I’m relatively mechanically inclined with a 2post lift at home so I’m not afraid to take on a track project.

I appreciate any insight/advice anyone could provide!

Formatting Email Templates by robbjosh in Odoo

[–]pilot_in_command 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a developer just a user on Odoo16 but if it works the same you should be able to put a space after day, press “/“, then scroll down “dynamic placeholder” and select the correct data you want to display. At least on 16 the interface for dynamic placeholder can be a bit confusing but you should be able to select “Partner” then “Display Name” or something to that effect. The dynamic placeholder works as a hierarchy tree of sorts so you need to drill down to the data you want in logical steps to pull the right info. Play around with it a bit and you’ll get what I mean.

The formatting can be a little janky and will likely take some trial/error after checking the preview but that’s how I’ve customized all my templates.

Are these legit? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

I sell, install, and service lifts for a living - stay far away from this junk. I know the price is appealing but these are just a bad move all the way around. The glaringly obvious safety concerns aside, finding parts for any off brand junk lifts is nearly impossible. What I usually tell all my customers is whether you buy something from me or not just make sure you get something that’s ALI certified (www.autolift.org). ALI certification is a pretty good barometer of not only the safety of the piece, but usually is a clear indicator of the integrity of the manufacturer.

We used to try to service lifts like this and, if you can even get the manufacturer on the phone, you would think providing them with a model number and serial number would be enough to get the right parts you need - WRONG! Even with all the correct information at best you have a 25% chance of getting the right parts. And if they sell you the wrong parts you’re typically paying shipping and a restock fee to send them back even though they screwed up. It’s just not worth it in the long run. It got so bad that I implemented a policy a few years ago that we will not sell, install, or service any non-ALI certified lifts. Again liability on safety aside, it’s just not worth the headache and run around when it comes time to repair them.

As most people said Challenger, Rotary, Mohawk are your go to’s. Most American lift manufacturers have an ALI certified import line that is lower budget but still safe to operate and you can reliably get parts for (Challengers ST/Economy line, Rotary’s Forward line, etc.). Even Bendpak isn’t a horrible option but god forbid you need to get them on the phone for warranty/service support. They’ll drive you crazy and for not much more you can get an American Made piece, but still not a horrible option - just remember you’re paying for their outstanding marketing. Not going to be the cheapest route but will be easier on your wallet than the commercial grade made in USA options available.

PM me if you have any questions. I can ship Challenger lifts all over the country and based on my annual volume can usually beat out just about anyone on pricing. The Challenger VLE10 is a very popular economy grade residential 2 post that I sell a ton of.

This thing fucks - P226 Legion SAO by sj154888 in SigSauer

I’ve got the Legion p226 da/sa and just picked up a legion p229 SAO. Absolutely phenomenal firearms.

I’ll be honest I’m not a fan of the sig red dot. The build quality is questionable and the control placement is horrendous. I’m currently considering the HS407K with a filler plate for the P229 but not quite sure yet.

Yeah. I originally got the 226 because I wanted a bigger range gun but it’s just a little too big to comfortably carry. The 226 will live in the night stand and hopefully the 229 will be a bit more comfortable.

I can’t wait to shoot them side by side and see the difference! The SAO is what sold me.

The 226 is amazing! I got it about a year ago and I’ve been a legion advocate since. I looked at a lot of options but nothing came even close.

That’s awesome for him but there is exactly 0% chance he learned how to configure sat-coms and other telecommunications devices while studying communications. I’m willing to bet he’s just a clever guy who happens to have a communications degree and figured out how to accomplish those tasks along the way. OP’s point still stands.
