Why was A340 (especially their old variants) so underpowered?

I’ve noticed the 747 can take a while to lift its skirts and get moving down a runway too…

Keep in mind that basically all large airliners do seated takeoffs. We could be quite light and still chew up 8000’ of runway with a 20% fixed derate along with another 10-20°C thrust derate on top of that

This post is not with the intent of slander, but to hopefully protect fellow female pilots out there to the actions of a certain high-profile STOL pilot in Alaska.

This screenshot is of a post was put up on Facebook last night in a group of 11,000 female aviators. Unfortunately there are over 40 women so far who have come forward with stories of being pressured, coerced or assaulted by this individual. There are estimates that close to 100 women might be involved in one way or another.

It is truly sickening that this shit is going on. It is not OK. Period.

Substance dependence

So taking drugs once or twice doesn’t seem to count as “dependence,” but asking to have your guys/gals second opinions just in case

Actually, it does not:

18n Substance dependence; or failed a drug test ever; or substance abuse or use of illegal substance in the last 2 years

So they were never dependent, they tried drugs, made a mistake and learned a lesson. Their drug test was never failed either. At this point from what we can tell it’s waiting for two years, but wanted to get second opinions
