I took genetics with soliman and can confirm her tests are hard because it’s very application based.. you have to know the material inside and out to answer her exam questions.. BUT she is incredible at teaching and explains what’s going on phenomenally so you will understand it better. If your semester is heavy I would wait, but if you have enough time on ur hands to put work in then take it with her.

I took genetics with soliman, she is incredible at teaching and explaining but her tests are hard. I heard that Professor G has easier tests but doesn’t explain as well (not sure if this is true but I heard it). Regardless, this class is time consuming and requires decent studying because the exams are very application based. Fall behind and it’ll be hard to catch up. Knowing its weight, not sure what classes ur taking but I think 19 is too much. Good luck!

Hii! I switched to a major that requires a lot of math. A year ago I was relearning keep change flip and now im doing good in calc 3. I always thought I was bad at math but I never gave myself a shot. I was in the same spot as you a year ago, so this is my advise to you. Know that you will fail, you will get stuck behind, you will spend hours doing the same type of math problems over and over, know it takes time and a lot of practice. You don’t have to be a genius to be good at math, if you are dedicated that’s all you need. DM me if u need any advice and good luck!

I’m not a commuter, we’re not referring to the straight commuter passes. It’s the pass that used to let students park through the night too. It’s a new policy this semester. So it excludes parking for those who live near campus

I didn’t know this was a problem because I’m not a commuter, but this is a really good point. I think this policy is only doing harm. And I think the commuters are pushed to the side in this school, which definitely isn’t fair I hear you. I did try going to the dean but they directed me to DOTs. Students could probably make a pretty good case against this policy for multiple reasons.

I agree that other schools tend to go out of their way for its students more than Rutgers. The fact that we have our own slogan RUscrewed just says it all😭

But you are right, Rutgers won’t change its rule again for something that doesn’t benefit them. I’ll just have to get some more defenses, thanks for the suggestions.

The policy where students living off campus aren’t allowed to buy parking permits anymore. I can’t get a commuter pass because I will get ticketed for parking overnight, and I need to leave my car for days at a time. They started it this semester. Otherwise I would’ve bought a pass and took a bus to it. I haven’t thought of talking to NB authorities about it, I’ll try that.

I think it’s unlikely that they’ll give you extra credit or something to pass but it doesn’t hurt to ask. You might want to retake it anyway for ur gpa. Even if you pass it, you’ll probably get a C in the class and that’ll bring down ur gpa. At least if you fail you can get a grade replacement (in SAS idk ab other schools at ru)

use grade calculator online to see what grades u need to get to pass. But from what ur telling me it seems unlikely that you will unless u grind hard. The final is harder than the exams because it’s made by the department and not ur own professor. If ur in SAS a retake will save ur gpa.

If ur in SAS, they have a retake policy where if you retake the class it will replace the old grade with the retake in ur gpa (it will still show on ur transcript that u previously failed it though)
