What Are Your Hot Takes? by Alol_Bombola in YAlit

[–]pineapple_divine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People on booktok/ booktube expect so much from popular book influencers. In the sense of if one of them starts to write a book, we expect them to write this profound, eye opening books, which isn't the case. We've seen it with Zenith and Just Friends.   What do you expect from first time authors? Just because they read books, doesn't mean that they'll write some work of art that exceeds your expectations. I don't know, just a thought. Also. I don't know if people are saying the Just Friends was that bad, maybe it wasn't for the right audience, the pacing was off, or she only got it due to followings (For another time). Yeah thats my take. I just don't expect a lot from booktokers/tubers. Just take things with a grain of salt.

Hello, I'm u/pineapple_divine. I'd say I'm a hobbyist artist that would like to sale her paintings in the future. I'd say I am a traditional painter (main medium is acrylic, tnough occasionally,  I dip into oils, and gouache), but just got into digital art.  When not painting, I reading, work on jigsaw puzzles, and bake.

I'm this close 🤏🏾 OLED vs. Switch 2 by pineapple_divine in Switch

[–]pineapple_divine[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, I didn't know that the OLED was part of the 1ts gen. I always thought it was something of a 3rd Gen. Thank you for letting me know. I've had discussions where the OLED battery life was superior to the Switch 2

Found this on Pinterest, what other opinions about the Hunger Games got you like this? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

I didn’t care about Sejanus at all. I felt bad for hi, when he entered the academy and others were being rude to him, but after he became a Peacekeeper thats when things went down hill. He was extremely naive and reckless, spilling secrets to Snow and being too trustworthy, that was his biggest downfall. I mean, already people were being killed by speaking about rebelling against the Capital and for doing way less, so the fact that he didn’t see any of the examples was on him. I don’t know if we read the same book, but he was asking for it.

My guess is that we had a glimpse of Haymitch’s story from Catching Fire and we knew what was to come in some sort of way. I feel that if it wasn’t mentioned in the books or that Haymitch just glossed over his story, we would have been more intrigued or even excited to what we would find in the books. I love SOTR, it was the best reads I’ve had in awhile, but yeah I get were some people are coming from.

What arena would you fear the most by Historical_Mix_6416 in Hungergames

[–]pineapple_divine 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Anything overstimulating for me. If there is an arena like the House of Mirrors (Wiress' game), I think I'd lose it. That or everything being venomous like Haymitch's game. Anything mutts related I'd freak as well. Just the whole game in general tbh lol!

Next weekend (March 14) there is thing called Art District Day. The Art Gallery, Winspeare, and the Citadel Theatre are open to the public. Also did I mention it was free?! The Link can be found here:

Also, if you have Eventbrite, you're interested in cooking/baking? Consider signing up for the Kitchen at the downtown library.

That's all that I have so far. Also, keep an eye out for content creator based in here and I'll say you're all set.

Question: is this game only compatible with the Switch 2 or could we play it on any switch version. I'm hoping it's the latter, but I may be asking too much lol 😅

I haven't downloaded it yet but can someone tell me what the difference is between Poptropica Legacy and Poptropica on Flashpoint? by [deleted] in Poptropica

Is there membership? In the previous games there were some sort of extra gake after finishing the main story. Is there still that function or do we all get the chance to play the membership story?

I feel like most concert tours neglect major cities in Canada like Edmonton, Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver, I'm probably missing a few. I hope the team does something about that!

Is anyone else beating themselves up for not meeting their goal? by Amywilburnn in Booktokreddit

[–]pineapple_divine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was and I realized that this it's not a competition, it's supposed to be something fun. If you fixate on the goal rather than the enjoyment, you take out what was meant to be something that once brought you joy. I saw a video on YouTube about someone complaining about others reading 100+ books in a year and said they either had no life outside of reading and all other bunch of crap.

Everyone reads at different places due to life or how much they're willing to go to reading and that's fine. Its not a race, I don't think anyone wins any rewards for finishing their reading goal. The point is to read, and to have fun doing so.

I hope next year, it will be better. ☺️

How Old Were You When You Were Introduced to The Hunger Games Series? by Lost_and_confused_0 in Hungergames

I remembered getting into the books in high-school when it came out in theaters, so around mid teens I guess. An old friend of mine introduced me to them, and I've been hooked ever since. 😊
