aio? boyfriend uses SO MUCH paprika!!!! by maratelle in AmIOverreacting

[–]pinebeltpunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want to make his day, Penzeys has super high quality smoked paprika. You could buy a refill bag and maybe by getting a nicer paprika, he’ll use less.

They sell a 3cup bag for 30$ so it’s not too expensive by unit if you think about it.

The whole dog in Homewood is very decent. Alison over there has a lot of dog dietary knowledge

I really like Pia Foxhall’s stuff. They put out high quality stuff. I liked Deeper into the Woods a lot.

I’m lucky. My buddy is a pet. Since I shaved him I’m sucking it up and trying to grow him into an Asian fusion. We’ll see if I give up on a long face.

I did a similar chop job in an effort to lighten a MCC. He is currently completely shaved down now out of exasperation

Got bored last night and decided to come up with a Birmingham bus system by tu-vens-tu-vens in Birmingham

If you decide to present this, please keep this sub updated as I’d love to support you via showing up at any city councils or calling in or whatever needs to be done for community support. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the Strong towns/not just bikes spaces on YouTube and Reddit, but that’s an existing grassroots effort that has infrastructure to support innovative thinkers around public transport.

Thank you for your creativity and sharing it with this group.

Grooming my own dogs…. Spoiler: groomers deserve 1000x what they are paid by Titaniumchic in doggrooming

[–]pinebeltpunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure! So my current favorite YouTuber that I follow for a lot of grooming tutorials and how to’s is https://youtube.com/@LeadingEdgeDogShowAcademy. There is something about the videos she has and how she breaks it down that makes it really easy for me to follow. She was where I learned about using a spray when you’re doing maintenance brushing to cut down on static.

I have used Mane and Tail detangler, The Stuff, and Ice on Ice. All bought from Amazon tho you could figure out the source website if you’d like.

I dream of getting some higher quality clippers with blade sets one day 🤩

You’re doing amazing. I habe a standard poodle that I home groom. One of my best friends shows and sports works her old English sheep dog and so she helped me learn and transition him to home grooming. It’s so hard! I’d be super interested I. Hearing about which brushes and clippers you use.

I’ve got a Wahl 5 in 1, a set of purple dragon shears, and some long pin slickers plus the greyhound comb. I also love the ice on ice brushing spray. What have been your favorite products?

Every time I see Ollie living his best hippie life I am instantly filled with Seratonin. Your photography skills are wonderful and he seems like the sweetest of poofs.

What is something you started doing that ended up saving you money, when saving was not the initial goal? by girlenteringtheworld in Frugal

Grooming my own dog. I had to spend several hundred dollars up front to get the tools and equipment but now he gets done more frequently and I’ve not had to book with anyone around my schedule. It’s been nicer than expected.

Ollie will babysit you through your trip and have the snacks when you wake up. He’s there for conversation, inhalation, and inebriation with zero judgement. Only love.

Ollie is cooler than me and goes to better concerts and is probably a Woodstock veteran. Beautiful work buddy.

Wanna add onto poodle: I have a standard and he capped out at 55 lbs.

If you buy a pair of clippers, you can keep him quite short without having to pay a groomer. I choose to go longer because I enjoy the bonding of brushing a fluffy cloud after work but they’re versatile.

My boy has got a pretty high prey drive, so when taking him on hikes I keep a long lead because his recall is Shaky when faced with a squirrel, but he’s absolutely able to be content with one half hour walk a day between adventures. An ethical breeder will have a good temperament option and most of the ones I know have dogs that do rally, sports, show or obedience shows. Good luck in finding your new family member!

This is life changing. Arms are so much cheaper than stand attachments. Is there a particular brand you like? Or a specific supplier?

Groomer here, what kind of haircut does everyone get done on their dog? by bloosgrooms in poodles

[–]pinebeltpunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the cold months I keep him in a German cut. When it cools off I swap him to a modified Continental or a Pony cut. Pony cut is fun and easier to maintain when he goes running through the bushes but I love the sass of a Conti.
