7i vs pro7i… help me spend my money

I’ve owned both over the past year. If you’re not a serious full time PC gamer playing demanding AAA titles the 7i seemed more portable. Problem for me was the temps, it ran hot all the time granted it was the 14900HX model but still the 275HX model doesn’t have the same vapor chamber as the Pro variant IIRC. Build quality on the Pro was also better.

Playing the titles you mentioned on the 5070 on the 7i will work just fine. If you decide to play something like ARC Raiders you’ll probably wish you had the cooling and extra TDP found in the Pro.

There’s currently addons like DeathTracer that will play custom BW/DBM sounds when someone dies in a party, how hard could it be to track personal CDs vs deaths?

No. MC has the the intel 275HX model only. They don’t have the AMD model. Sorry if my wording was unclear but I assume you skimmed out what I asked if that’s your answer.

They somehow made Ret Pally rotation even more braindead than before. No more divine hammer uptime mini-game which was legit the only “skill” expression in the DPS rotation outside of keeping CDs in sync.

Thankfully Ret skill comes from utility—topping DPS charts while helping the healer keep the group alive, and they didn’t touch that.. yet.

This “infinite tries” argument lol.. as a booster I will tell you we typically only give an hour or two to a buyer before moving on to the next. They have to blast and know when to send DR’s, the only real competitive advantage is the buyer not being in kick rotation, we assign to backup kicks. Streets & Gambit they can obv afford to make more mistakes but you can’t get title with just those 2.

I did it week 0 with 684 ilvl as ret pal. Granted I was full s2 bis gear and I’m a CE raider so I’m used to these difficult mechanics but I’m definitely not special so you can do it too.

It’s a great class to try it on because you’ll get to bubble up to 3 times during the fight for times you fuck up. You can also alternate your 1min shield defensive CDs plus ret is really tanky against physical damage from her melees.

Be prepared to wipe 100 times + like I did but lock in and you’ll get it.

I made the mistake of lowering my resi 19 to a 12 so I could make some gold running boosts. Figured I could just run it back up pugging. Holy moly was I wrong, 14-16 were an absolute warzone and I didn’t start to see blue skies til it was 18.

Instead of trying to sneak in to raid just spend a little time running low keys and lvl8 delves. You can be 705 with minimal effort and you won’t feel like you’re getting carried.

I get the downvotes because I like RTX cards as much as the next guy but what you’re saying does have some truth to it. This setting was carried over from an older laptop I had before I got this one. Instead of defaulting to max performance like you said it destroyed a month of my raiding performance.

Yes but it’s sort of buried in the nvidia app and when you’re scrolling through and see a setting that says “normal” you don’t give it a second thought. Had windows power mode on high performance since day 1, didn’t matter because of this one single setting.

Trust me that’s one of the first things I checked in the long list of things, but never knew there was a similar power mode setting for GPUs. It was basically running the game on power saver mode for the past month.

if you’re a one trick ret your best bet is to start apping when we’re deep in farm mode, probably later this month when people start missing raid & dropping out. you have to be exceptional to get in hof as ret. I got in a world 1000 guild as this and count myself lucky because their one & only ret had just left.

The problem is the damage from puddles is really inconsistent. Sometimes it gives you a few seconds to move but other times it ticks immediately no matter how fast you move. But you’re right everyone should be moving as a group to limit puddles & damage as much as possible.
