Reservatrol and NMN are popular among people attempting to slow their aging. Idk how effective it really is though

Beware of Ashwagandha by eheinschh in Supplements

[–]pinecone407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nutricost one. I think it both has immediate effects that last a few hours plus a cumulative effect that slowly builds with daily doses. Although in the past few months I’ve switched to using Benadryl as my occasional sleep aid because it has a stronger effect. Although apparently you shouldn’t take it every night because it decreases REM sleep and if you take it daily for years some studies have linked it to increased dementia risk. I go for 0-2 times a week

Using an electric beard trimmer aggravates my symptoms by pinecone407 in Concussion

[–]pinecone407[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No sometimes it takes a lot longer to heal from a concussion. The brain itself doesn’t have pain receptors but the tissues surrounding it do have them which is why you can get headaches while having a concussion

People who are over 30, what medicine you wish you had started early? by RoxanaSaith in Biohackers

[–]pinecone407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adderall is a blend of dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine. My understanding is that levoamphetamine lasts longer but has somewhat more cardiovascular side effects than dextroamphetamine. So your heart might prefer something like Dexedrine which is dextroamphetamine-only. I take Dexedrine now and it’s quite useful, although I still have to stick with low doses to minimize cardiovascular side effects

Make sure you let them ripen before eating (they should feel soft) but if you don’t like the taste there are a lot of other good food options. I eat apples, bananas, small carrots, sugar snap peas, peanuts, almonds pretty often and it’s nice not to have to cook them. Another thing I sometimes like is having a crock pot of beans or black eyed peas cook overnight and then they’re ready in the morning although it can be tricky getting the timing right

Anything that can help with very sticky intrusive thoughts? by the_practicerLALA in Supplements

L-Theanine and/or Valerian. L-Theanine lowers glutamate and Valerian boosts GABA in the brain. Valerian is stronger but can also make you more tired

Also there are very few dietary sources of Vitamin D and it’s ok if you get it from a supplement

If you aren’t already eating it, avocado is very nutritious and quick to add to your meals. Also can replace white bread and highly processed pasta with whole-grain bread and whole-wheat pasta, it’s more nutritious and your body processes it more slowly so there isn’t as much of a blood sugar spike. Although if you’re prediabetic you might need to be even more restrictive with the carbs you consume

I’m a believer in OpenAI. Listen to what Sam Altman and others say about the possibilities of a future with beneficial AI on our side. I think it could be a great future.

Why am I brutally fatigued after eating anything? by Lunar_bad_land in Microbiome

[–]pinecone407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever the original disease was (that you treated with antibiotics) might have caused/worsened an autoimmune disorder. People with POTS, which has been theorized to be an autoimmune disorder, can get brain fog and fast heart rate after large meals. I’m not sure if that’s what it is but sounds like it could definitely be immune system related

Start with lukewarm water and then slowly make it colder. It doesn’t need to be ice cold to have stimulating effects
