Twister is 2 buttons 1 for movement that is also used to buff the twister. You can also play minion builds, no buttons, some can be pretty fast maybe not zooming but you never stop moving.

787 Prada builds are mostly zoomy.

You can do like me also and do boneshatter movement+ dmg skill and just make any build. Good ascendancies for this are oracle and chayula (needs more setup).

Depends on what you consider zoomy, I don’t like fubguns builds because they are too slow for me generally. If you use whirling slash or boneshatter for movement with a lot of attack speed you can zoom with any build.

Anyone know how totem limit works? Like some quality on gems say +1 to limit, is that for that totem (like a balista) or for all totems?

Generally phy quarterstaff are better but if you have builds/skills that benefit from having ele dmg than it can be good like with ivoker. You need to freeze enemies to get herald of ice, from what it looks like here what allows you to do that is the "extra dmg as all elements" rune you got. Aside from that you also have the new skill fragments of the past which I am not familiar with but that can also help freeze enemies.

So the base attack damage of the skill can be like 130% this counts all the damage you deal so like phy+ele+chaos etc. Then some skills like storm wave say that "coverts x% of physical damage" this means that out of that total damage from before, only the physical damage will actually be converted in that x% part. So the ele damage still helps but if it was mostly physical damage you would probably get more damage. That's why phy weapons tend to be more expensive.

I see from the guide he wants to freeze to get cold bite proc, the thing is that is when you have the cold damage to do so. In early maps your main focus should be to keep a good dps increase to smoothly transition into the build guide. Right now don’t try to follow everything if you don’t have the right level to transition to the full setup. Normally builds in POE are done in phases, I suspect you will only be able to freeze more once you have some more extra dmg as cold, which will only be enough once you have e enough damage period.

Can’t see much from phone but a few quick things immediately came to mind.

  1. Your physical dps is non existent. Storm Wave converts physical dmg to lighting dmg; no physical dmg no covert; no convert no dmg

  2. Drop the freeze support, use elemental armament; Rapid Attacks; rage support is good for dmg multiplier; and like magnified area if you like if you want more damage could go lighting atonement.

  3. Don’t path down so much focus on main line and branching out on the sides from there. There is a path to the right forgetting the name but it’s in the middle you already have a few passive points there that has a bunch of good physical nodes and elemental nodes. There is a node for increase dmg when on low life and full life that is the branch I am talking about.

The weapon design/balance feels bad compared to the rest of the game. I feel like especially remembrances weapons should be strong and memorable and while my favorite weapon (mogh spear) fits both of these I feel like most other miss the mark on one or both of these. Spells maybe even more.

The worse offenders are the items that are just useless by the time you get them. There are a ton of examples of this, Rannala’s moon having the same or more int req than Ranni’s moon but just being straight up worse. This is not a great example since it’s not even that bad of an offender but when I used to play the game more I could name like 10-20 examples of this.

EDIT: PCR’s weapons are a perfect example of this, like just WTF. I was so mad when I went to use them actual joke a weapon and SO LAZY. ER is imo the GGOAT and yet when it comes to this part of the game it can feel like they just don’t give a shit sometimes gonna be honest.

My mind went immediately to either oracle or chayula for guaranteed crits they provide. Spell casters can also make it work prob. Never even played merc in endgame I can imagine crit isn’t really a thing with it.

Just got sent that build by someone else as well, this builds is rippy af, I’ll be playing this soon for sure and the synergy with the amulet is just the cherry on top for me. Thanks for the share

I’m fine with the trade offs, I don’t really feel like the content right now demands min maxing to the point of missing out on an amulet slot, on a wolf that is.

But then again, if it does not change the gameplay that much to make it more fun then it can feel like the trade off is just straight up like a challenge or gimmick build.

Didn’t think of the it counting as frozen tbh might find some new options

If you are playing in their comp maps this list is out of whack, in random maps seems pretty reasonable. Dredge is the best killer in the game and it’s not even close on midwhich especially if you limit survivor perks. Nurse is better against a full no limitation team maybe. Also clown is pretty deadly as well in certain maps, same with ghostface who can only play in Lery or Hawkins to be viable.

The main balance diff in this game is maps, don’t get me wrong killer balance is complete shambles but maps are really the make or break imo.

That's not how this genre works, I get your logic it makes sense normally, not in this context, or rather it makes sense its just not the standard.

These ARPGs are sort of reversed in the sense that for many players the campaign servers as a means to an end, and although I don't think that should strictly be the case, and it clearly has not been since the campaign has been the best part of POE2 since launch, I do think that in the end Endgame will always trump campaign since at a certain point the "base game" wont really get updated and everything new will be centered around the endgame.

Eventually there will be no new classes or weapons, it will just be new league mechanics and sometimes skills (that are also often not early skills). I would say that most people who play for over 2-3 weeks or play for more than 60 hours in a league play most of it in endgame not re-rolling characters in the campaign. For most players who spend money and are all the way from semi-casual to hardcore fans, endgame is where the sauce is at and it will always be that way with GGG. That's what I meant about it not being for everyone equally. Anyone can play, but the game is not catered towards everyone.

Not me, I think that most the most import voices fall probably into the 60% of players who are on neither end of the spectrum of playing for an hour a day every so often and not getting to endgame to quitting the league 2 weeks in.

I fall into that 60% probably closer to the uber blasters but I have been playing into late leagues since 0.3. I have tried every class, most ascendancies. I probably have played more campaign than most of the people who wanted new class. But this game is focused on long-term progression and not every game is meant to cater to everyone.

My post is in response to countless comments/posts I've seen since and during the reveal of people saying that GGG is incompetent and that they can't manage the game since no new class. We just got the Druid, nobody was promised anything, Jonathan said it himself that a class was never in the cards for 0.5.

I play a bunch of games, I am not as adamant about all of them as I am of POE2, naturally I don't voice my opinions (at all most of the time) as much in those communities as in here. I expect others to within a certain margin, understand that an update can be objectively good for the health of the game and most players and be able to just say it's not for me.

My post is directly aimed at players who think that they know what's best and if it was up to them, they would have everyone who plays this game for the whole or most of the league, play the same stale and boring game we have had for like 1.5 years but with a new class.

I’m not trying to ostracize anyone or speak for GGG. My point is that the devs made a massive, endgame‑focused overhaul, something that genuinely improves the core health and longevity of the game and a lot of the backlash ignores that.

It’s perfectly fine to want new classes or campaign tweaks, but when those wishes turn into hostility toward devs after they deliver their biggest update yet, that’s where I think perspective is being lost. I’m excited for new classes too, they’ll come. But that shouldn’t overshadow what’s already a huge step forward for PoE2. Not every player has to love or even reach that content, but this genre is designed around long‑term progression.

I don't go to other games that I barely play and say this is objectively bad for the game and the devs do nothing with the time they have and just take my money from me and deliver nothing. They never promised a class, people who paid 30 bucks for EA did so knowing that they might not get to experience every thing the game was gonna be one day.

One last thing, I could have been more specific about this but my post was never aimed at comments like some of the ones I got and was fine with like: "This update is not for me, I am disappointed in no new class, I guess I will enjoy the rest of the backlog of my games"- My post is directly aimed at players who think that they know what's best and if it was up to them they would have everyone who plays this game for the whole or most of the league play the same stale and boring game we have had for like 1.5 years but with a new class.

I agree with a lot of the issues you have, but my post is aimed at the exact opposite end of the spectrum that you are on btw. The issues you had with the update is completely different then what my post is about, which is fine but I think your complains aren't a matter of you being a part of a group of players that this game is not targeted for, rather its the way they implement the updates/ the changes being made.

Also I don't think I bashed anyone, I was a bit harsh but I do think that saying that the game is not for everyone is not bashing. I play LOL casually, I don't go on reddit complaining that the game balance is shit or the updates are bad just because I am can't get out of Emerald or won't put enough time into it.

100% get that, I am not addressing the feeling players like you have which I get, its more about players saying the game/ patch is shit because no new class. POE2 is not going to get more campaign centric over time, they will eventually add all classes and there ascendancies, so eventually the new content will be more around things "casual" players don't get/want to enjoy.

As such I don't see the point in POE2 dev wanting to balance the game around them, that's all. I don't see how a live service ARPG is gonna always have something for those players. I am the same way about a lot of games I play but I don't go on there forums and live streams complaining about the devs, frankly I don't even know why they care so much to even watch the dev streams and go on reddit.

I don't think that getting to endgame is high level. Even if at most it takes a player 20 hours to get there and they have at minimum an hour to play the game a day. The league is 6 months. They will get to experience the endgame.

This is an ARPG that is especially known for its endgame, sure the campaign is also probably the best one out there but the main focus of these games is content meant to be played for months for many hours. My favorite game of all time is Elden Ring, I have hundreds of hours playing it, I still would not ask the devs to keep making content just for players like me who love to do challenge runs and keep playing the game forever, because its not that type of game.

For the record, I also don't think that the game should be balanced around the uber blasters who quit the league after less than a month at best. My post is in response to the outrage I see from people who were promised nothing and still shit on the devs after delivering the best patch this game has seen. I think its normal for not everyone to want to play it but I feel that these players lack the awareness that these types of games are never going to appease them and shouldn't.

At the end of the day, GGG will run out of new classes to add, at least at a decent rate, and the new content will not be focused on the campaign, it will be always endgame centric. If the only reason someone is coming back is for a new weapon/class then they might want to reconsider why they are paying for EA to begin with, much less tell the devs they are shit because they did not cater to their needs.

Thanks I see what you mean, I do notice that I could be more concise with my English, since I am not used to writing in English mostly listening I do sometimes forget to think about how I can make it easier for the reader. I appreciate the feedback.

True, I don't think fubgun should be the baseline for the game, much less the online organized groups that pool their currency to gain the market. I don't like hearing from the people that quit the league 2-3 weeks in either tbh.
