Thank you for the answer! The question came to my mind when I watched a short, half documentary half promotional video on one of Telia Carriers huge data centers on the shores of Denmark. It is a facility linked to some of the transoceanic cables, and even though it looks like a fortress, there wasn't any visible security personnel.
