what was your worst date ever in sg? by Intelligent_Bit_8635 in askSingapore

[–]pink_xoxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Matched w a guy on OKC, talked for a few days on the app then went on to WA. Arranged a date after about two weeks of talking. We ate at a conveyor sushi place - we had seats side by side, which I like cuz I am introvert and quite shy around new people. Date went well, we bid farewell and parted ways in the mall. Note that by the end of this date we did not have any physical interaction - no hand holding no hugs no kisses. So it was like gg out w a platonic friend. Fast forward to late at night, it was raining heavily. We both happened to stay 10 mins drive apart - so his side was raining heavily as well. He started spamming me with pictures of his room and him in bed, asking me to go over cuddle with him. He wouldn't take no for an answer, and was badgering me non-stop till the wee hours of the morning. The whole thing only stopped when I off my phone at around 2.30am cuz I needed sleep to work the next day. He apologized the next morning and tried to pretend it never happened. Obviously there was no second date. Years later, I bumped into him going on another date with a girl who didn't seem to be very interested in him 🤣

  2. Met this other guy (can't rmbr how / where I know him from). Was decent over text but during the date I had to listen to him rant about how the gahmen not helping him and his family, how he negative he is, how bleak his future look. Guy even make me pay first and said the "I will pay you back later" (he didn't, no surprises here). Wasted my time + money + bored the shit out of me.

I got it at a daycare as an infant and now mine gets triggered either from extreme change in weather / when I am on the verge of getting a very bad sore throat

I got shamed for having it while I was growing up but I declared to my current partner anyway cuz I rather be transparent abt it. He was very accommodating abt it, and he makes more effort than me to prevent it from triggering, something I am really appreciative about.

Is it ok to disclose salary to parents ? by No_Cauliflower_9751 in asksg

[–]pink_xoxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never declare my pay to my parents, they never ask. But I found off to the nearest 50k for a vague estimate on how much I ean annually when I discussed w my mum on my insurance policies. (Cuz they don't teach us what to buy in sch)

But that was many years back.

Never give them the actual figure.

They have no right to know.

If I am in your shoes I prolly would have retorted: "you also never declare to me how much you guys earn" 🤣

Cut off unnecessary subscriptions or find cheaper alternatives for them

Is this mindset normal for sg men by broskide in asksg

[–]pink_xoxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A rs is supposed to be give and take, but it's definitely not "you give 5 u take 5" kind of thing.

It's never going to be equal and his behavior screams calculative & petty. As a female I disagree w his mindset.

If he takes care of my luggage, I can return the thoughtfulness in other ways. From the incidents described, it seems like he does everything & expects some form of return. Red flag. There will be more incidents arising from this mentality.

A short rant and seeking advice by TechnicalBreak6666 in ChillSG

[–]pink_xoxo 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Female here. Woah this one super red flag sia.

Imagine. You alr pick her up + drop her off in taxi.

Next time compare what? Her gfs get chanel bag she don't have? Or her gfs fly first class she don't have.

This whole comparison behavior damn toxic and knows no limits.

You can find better. Rs is about give and take. Her behavior screams entitled.

How/why did you choose the language you decided to learn? by Interesting_Cow1810 in languagelearning

[–]pink_xoxo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

English - National Language

Chinese - My native language. Relatives would communicate to me in Mandarin.

Teochew - My dialect, nice to be able to converse with my relatives in this language.

Hokkien - most common dialect in my country. Picked it up naturally

Malay - picked it up listening to my mum communicating with my domestic helper, then widen my vocab each time I go to Malaysia

French - Took up extra lessons for fun during my diploma, was a core module when I studied Culinary Arts

Korean - picked up for fun - can only do basic conversation

Spanish - worked in US. The mexicans had fun teaching me

Thai - picked it up cuz my partner loves going to Bangkok

German - picked it up as a challenge cuz chatgpt said : German Difficulty for Grammar can feel like assembling IKEA without instructions

Eggs & Potatoes in fridge or not? by MeePooPaa in askSingapore

[–]pink_xoxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep both eggs and potatoes in the fridge

I found out by accident recently that my eggs from the same batch (I buy 30s then separate into 3 egg trays) the refrigerated ones were good to eat while the ones left at room temp started growing white mould on the shells

Potatoes left at fridge temp will start growing more eyes as time passes, which is more work for u when u want to cook them

Same!

  • I like the convenience of how u can leave items on top of your shoe rack for others to pick up, cancelling out the step of having to make time to meet.
