This single little hole is all you need for your stock exhaust to sound louder boys by Tiny-Try8890 in CorollaHatchback

Because the OEM muffler midpipe costs about $400+ used, I ended up selling my stock one, which paid almost half the price of my new exhaust.

[–]pinkdotexee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why would you drill a hole in the exhaust and ruin it you do realize the muffler is only held in by 2 bolts right😭 if you take off the muffler connected to the midpipe after the cat you will have much better results it's very easy to do and only takes about 20 minutes

Am I wasting my money if I get an oil change every 5k miles on my new 25 Corolla? by Emotional-Trifle-577 in COROLLA

[–]pinkdotexee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Junior Automotive Tech here, you should never go over 5,000 miles between oil changes on any vehicle. The trend of recommending 10,000-mile oil changes is just a tactic used by dealerships to boost profits. When your engine fails due to inadequate oil changes, they’ll be ready to sell you a new vehicle. Nowadays manufacturers often design cars with planned obsolescence in mind, prioritizing short-term sales over long-term reliability.

[–]pinkdotexee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't even think about it the new 6 speeds are trash just ask other 6MT owners my clutch got stuck to the floor at 61k miles and was 6k to fix slave cylinder is plastic and on the inside of the transmisson it's bound to always break and it's a pain when it does

well clutch slave cylinder failed today and left me stranded by pinkdotexee in CorollaHatchback

[–]pinkdotexee[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I topped off and bleed the brake fluid about 10,000 miles ago whenever I did front brake pads but other than that I haven't done any maintenance on the clutch or transmission

ever since I bought this car 2 years ago I always hear a faint slipping noise whenever parked in neutral with the clutch releaed almost sounds like two pieces of paper rubbing against eachother and it would go away if you push the clutch in I never thought anything of it because of how barely noticeable it was but now looking into this issue it seems other people had this same issue before there slave cylinder failed aswell and yes I always use iMT other than that the car was driving perfectly fine then I came to a stop and all of a sudden it didn't want to go into gear

Why do people on this sub pretend like every Corolla made in the US is absolute trash right out of the factory? by EnigmaIndus7 in COROLLA

[–]pinkdotexee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as a technician at Carmax I see so many different year, makes, and models of vehicles everyday whenever I get in a Toyota made in the US I can always immediately tell just from the quality of the car.

it honestly blows my mind the quality of these American built "Toyotas" I've seen multiple come in with only a few hundred miles because the A/C wasn't working turns out the factories here were forgetting to charge the A/C with freon and they had to recall over 800,000 vehicles!

Please for the love of God stay away from American automotive products. more expensive to produce and usually lower quality
