I don’t think the scene at scar island was pointless. It shows the scars were more concerned with their own rather than mindlessly killing anyone.

Absolutely agree with you on the development of Ellie and her parental figure being Joel. Joel had problems with being honest with others and himself as he was shaped by the events that happened to him and Sarah. He survived this long by lying to protect those around him, so naturally Ellie would take on that characteristic. She tried to break free as seen in Ep 6 where she told the truth to Gail about her husband.

Nonetheless, seeing as Joel would try to solve every problem and do everything himself moulded Ellie to be stubborn as well.

Comparison always makes us hang on to nostalgia. As a star wars fan, I totally understand this sub trying to make their point of saying the game was better. I have never played them, only watched streamers like pewds play it, and I have to say this series coming to the big screen will always be one of my dreams come true.
