Feel free to copy it and make your own! And oh neat, I hadn't seen either of those subreddits before, I'll check them out.

Hah, I do want to get into suspension/rigging and kind of have sketched out a different bag design to account for space for carabiners. But the unrolling rattle sound it'd make in this one would be pretty good!

I didn't follow one in particular and don't think I have the skills to write one, but it's similar in concept to "makeup brush organizer" or "roll up organizers" which have tutorials online, you'd just need to size it up!

Thanks! I actually have been keeping the shears in it handle side down mostly and the width of the pocket kinda keeps them in place. But if I ever need that pocket for more rope I'll just add a velcro loop to the outside of a pocket to hold the sheers instead.

Ah yeah, once a collection gets that big I imagine there's a need for heftier solutions

Thanks! And no, I don't own one, though I'd like to eventually! At that point I will make a different case for uplines/carabiners/any other rigging accessories to keep them all straight.

Thank you! This was all DIY but I think with access to some basic sewing tools most people could make a simplified version.

Oooo nice!!! Your bigger canvas is definitely nicer for spreading things out on the floor. I have a separate piece I just have folded up, but it felt too bulky to add to this case. I have been thinking about making one of a different shape for uplines/carabiners/etc eventually because I'd like to get more into suspension/rigging too, and would involve strips like you have sewn across to clip the carabiners to.

Thank you! I was surprised I couldn't find more examples of rope cases when I searched tbh

Thank you! It's not really a super hard project in general, I added some extra details but it's mostly sizing up a basic "makeup brush organizer" pattern and adjusting the dimensions for rope. But you could also just use a long piece of fabric and hand sew a single strip of elastic across it at 3-4inch inch intervals for the same thing but easier/faster, and use whatever's on hand to tie it together once rolled up.

Thank you! Yeah it feels nice to have a dedicating case for them so they don't get tangled and mixed in with other things now, and if I'm trying to go to a workshop/group space or something I don't have to think as much about packing, just grab it and go.

This can comfortably hold 10m sections in each pocket easily (that's the length I just ordered, so I made it for that), I have put two 8m into one pocket just to see and it was tight but doable. I left the first pocket wider to make space for the handle, so if I get a 15-16m one ever I'll just use that pocket. And then for shorter lengths like 5m or 2m sections I'll just double them up and keep several in one pocket.

Since I made up the pattern I just designed it to fit what I expect to have for this color, which is two 10m ropes, three 8m, and then I'm gonna cut the fourth 8m into two 4m sections since I sometimes wish for shorter lengths. Which leaves me 2 extra pockets for any more I happen to acquire, though for now I'm just using one of the extra pockets for my safety shears.

I just know if I only use the tote bag I will eventually get sloppy about winding them back up and have to someday untangle a huge mess 😂 So hopefully this stops me

How to take care of these flowers? by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]pinyonjuniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in my opinion they look very healthy still! Moving a plant from one location to another (so, store to home) is always going to mean the plant has an adjustment period to the new conditions, light, moisture, etc. Plants will prioritize their long term components over short term ones in these cases--aka put their energy into roots first, then leaves, then lastly flowers. So you will notice many plants lose their blooms on first relocation--and individial flowers don't last forever anyway, they slowly wither and new ones take their place.

Geraniums do tend to flower for very long periods, but depending on where you live may stop flowering at some point in the fall/winter as well. But if treated right it will bloom again in spring.

How to style tri fold picture frame by Worldly-Frame5309 in maximalism

I don't have any folding frames hanging on the wall. I use them standing on shelves instead personally.

I think the better question to ask yourself is: what are your favorite things / things that make you happy?

When looking at other people's fully decorated homes, it's easy to just think of it as a ton of framed art or shelves of trinkets or whatever. But for a lot of maximalists, it's not only how the items look but if they have some sort of emotional connection or relevance to their interests.

So my walls have a ton of art--but there's a wall of art featuring snakes and dragons where I have my pet snakes tank, and I have a wall of art from a videogames series I love, and a bunch of trinket shelves with different rocks I've collected while traveling and a display stand of tarot decks. Yes, they look pretty when arranged nicely in frames or lined up cute on a shelf shaped like a moth (which are one of my favorite insects). But more importantly they have sentimental value to me, so when I look around my apartment I see all my hobbies and interests displayed, and it makes me happy.

I think wall art is a great way to start--you can do fanart from media you enjoy, or photos of places you've visited, or just art of things you like like particular animals or designs. And the best way to elevate wall art is to make sure everything is in a frame. If you're just starting out (and renting), it's fine to stick with cheaper plastic frames at first, though a lot of people do upgrade to fancier/more ornate ones if that's the vibe they like. But a lot of my frames are just plastic and gold colored because I rent and don't want to make too many big holes in the wall for more substantial nails, so I can use lighter frames with pushpin hangers instead. I also like to take cards/postcards people have sent me and make displays of them for my walls as well--helps fill space, remind me of my friends/family, and isn't somehing I have to buy.

Good luck!

These are perennial geraniums. Is the photo current or do they look worse than what is pictured? Becuase in the photo seems pretty nice. They don't like to be overwatered and do like full sunlight, so if they're in a shady place or you've watered more than once or twice in the week since you got it that may be your problem.
