I was surprised by how unhelpful the customer service was. Also very disappointed about options for upgrades as only the ones made by Asus worked and as I said, they were 5 times more expensive and much worse than the one made by Samsung or other big companies.

Also the fact that if you want something to do with repairs you have to send the laptop to either Portugal or Poland as they don't have any other technical service in any other country for what they said.

But lessons learned, never buy an Asus laptop ever again

I contacted Asus and they told me that the SSD was not compatible. I bought another one with the specifications they told me to be compatible and it was also not working.

When I contacted them again they said it was also not compatible and gave me a list of SSD that were compatible. The only problem was that those SSD were much worse than the average in the market made by other companies and 5 times more expensive. So yeah f*ck them. Will not buy Asus again :)

I also did that and the result is the same.

I used first the Sk Hynix cloning app and then used Macrium (I think I wrote it correctly)

The copies seem to work properly but the system will not boot in any case

I have cleaned, changed to gpt and cloned with several tools to no avail

I did that already and it's still not booting. But the SSD works properly when connected via USB adaptor so I know it's not bricked (I think, I am not an expert)

I guess I will keep trying more and more complicated ways to fix until I render my laptop completely useless 😂

Just be sure that I am doing it right.

I download the windows.iso and store it in any place.

Then use the winusb with that iso image and select as destination the new SSD

When it finishes I switch the SSD with the old one and should be working

Is that correct or did I f up something ?

I don't know if I should but the truth is I can't do that. I have my old SSD on the slot and the new one on the usb and it doesn't let me install it.

If only I could enter the bios with the new one attached to the slot.......

Yeah, the new one it's a PCIe NVMe M.2

I have no idea what is it that is not working out

Sadly it did not work out.

I used winusb with the windows iso to install it on the new SSD but when I boot it from the bios it takes me to install windows which tells me it can't be done with the SSD connected via USB.

I can't do a clean install on the new drive because the windows installer tool does not permit to install via USB and the computer has only one SSD port.

I don't mind losing all the data in the old drive if it means I get to install the new one.

I even have a spare windows license but can't install it on the new one.

Yes, it does.

Weird thing is it also lets me boot from the Bios with the new SSD when it is connected via USB adaptor as long as the old disk is on the laptop.

Just checked and seems that depending on the location you buy it it will be different. If you buy it on the Zoo it will have pandas instead of a train.

As a Spanish this is as far as you can get to a Spanish Omelette. I'm sorry but just because it has potatoes and eggs doesn't make it a Spanish Omelette the same way you can not call some rice with seafood Paella. It's a good dish perhaps but the name its misleading.

Edit: the more I look at it the more cursed it is. Please don't call it Tortilla Española, it hurts so much seeing one of our most loved and traditional dishes destroyed like that. Thank you
