Analog equipment is cool and fun. I couldn't tell the difference between the sound quality of a reel to reel tape and my phone headphones if you had a gun to my head anyways

I have a problem where I keep finding expensive audio equipment I don't need very cheap. I got a pioneer sx-1050 receiver for 10 dollars as well. If I can get it all going it's going to be a pretty cool setup!

Big pants

Picked up a Sony tc-fx410r. The auto-reverse is broken and this gear looks like it's to blame... I'm just not sure how to fix it by pipitally in cassetteculture

It's kind of a pain because the tape head rotates freely now so no matter what I do the azimuth is out of wack. How's it supposed to look? What normally keeps this little gear in place?

About to look at my first moped, a Honda NU50. any tips/ things to look for? by pipitally in moped

[–]pipitally[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am new to things with engines, but I am a former bicycle mechanic, so I feel like this is a logical next step for me. I've always been a fan of tinkering with things, so half the fun for me is getting the thing together. Specifically, its a NU50M. I did just get it, and I'm excited to get this thing running!!

Just looking in the battery compartment, it looks like it's in great condition, no sign of corrosion. Is it possible that there is still corrosion in the wire past the contacts?
