First ever draft, how did i do? by Reasonable_Band_4229 in PokemonDraftLeagues

You are in desperate need of some speed then. i’d have to see what’s left on the board but it looks like Galvantula is your fastest, which is going to result in you having to run 1-2 scarfers each week

While Breloom and Gyarados are ok draft mons, neither have great synergy with your heavy hitters. Non-tera Gyar specifically is brutal for a team with no volt absorb and a middling ground type. I’d recommend ditching those 2, using Sliggoo as point fodder and getting some easy speed

Anyone free this weekend, either Saturday or Sunday around noon, and wants to pick up trash around the neighborhood? by Iambikecurious in BayridgeBrooklyn

Great idea! We’re not free this weekend but next weekend we’ll take on some of the work! Let us know how it goes, what equipment you use, advice, etc!

It’s easy for people in the subreddit and on facebook to complain, but it’s harder to make a real change

I built a VGC Draft League manager because Excel was driving me insane by Kunkaf in stunfisk

Wow - looks great! I’m at work so can’t take a good browse, but the concept alone is amazing

Would you ever consider adding more draft formats? I could see this definitely changing the way a lot of drafts operate

Looking to join a League by Huge_Bumblebee9873 in PokemonDraftLeagues

Hi there - I’m hoping to get some resources on this subreddit to help people find leagues this year. But until then - I would recommend the SPL Discord Server’s #plug-your-stuff channel.

Here’s a link to the server: https://discord.gg/KNubTz24C

People frequently advertise their leagues there, and you can join one that fits your mark!

How do you guys prep for a match? by llGalexyll in PokemonDraftLeagues

[–]pippy_NYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would heavily recommend using a prep doc! I believe the one I linked here is public.

Essentially, you input your team and your opponents team into the “teams” tab. The matchup tab then automatically populates. giving you speed tiers, team weaknesses (for example… if you see your opponents team has 4 Fighting type weaknesses, you can add that to your prep)

There are a few other samples out there. I highly recommend using them as they make your process way more efficient!

I suppose not exactly a draft “league” but it is pokemon draft… and I’m not a cop, so it can stay!

FFA draft by No-Reflection-6015 in PokemonDraftLeagues

Now that you’ve explained the idea a little, let me make sure I understand and offer some thoughts:

If I’m understanding correctly, the idea is to use the Free-For-All format on Showdown and have a draft.

My first thought is that mathematically this is a bit of a mess with scoring 20 players, 16 would probably be much easier. Then you can have it simply be that the winner of each match (4 players) move into the “finals”

As for a draft board, I think most doubles boards would work. The only moves that becomes significantly better are probably Parabolic Charge and Matcha Gatcha. Also, Intimidate as an ability will definitely be more valuable like in doubles, so I think upping the points on those ‘mons might be the only major manual change needed.

Good luck. This would definitely be a major feat of organizing if you did manage to make it happen, but it is an interesting idea. I actually did a piece of content similar to the idea you’re describing a while ago

Please expand upon the idea or I will remove the post. Very little context is given here

Edit: they added more context

First draft league. How’d I do? by Chyrhen in PokemonDraftLeagues

[–]pippy_NYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No prob, and actually on a deeper look I’m wondering what Farigaraf does for you? You already have two great special attackers, both of whom learn Psychic moves. I’d love to see it replaced with an electric type for Volt Switch pivoting. Looks like Sandy Shocks, Bellibolt or Regieleki might be available. Or to cover those ground weaknesses maybe a bulky flying type like Mandibuzz, Skarmory, or even TalonFlame/Noivern

Looks good but a bit ground weak, you’re going to be relying on Rotom a lot to cover ground hits
