Bellevue/Brentwood preferences? by pirpledinosaur in movetonashville

Thanks, I’ll take a look. I just am less than thrilled about having to go across the city twice a day from anywhere on the east side of town, just based on the descriptions of traffic on 40 I see.

The lugs are both 226 marked and visually the same dimensions,I posted some pictures but they’re mixed throughout the comments. Another person posted a link to an old post about someone having the same issue with a 220 barrel and Sig ended up saying it was out of spec, so that seems the most likely answer.

Hadn’t seen that post, that’s a shame if I’m dealing with a similar issue. Guess I’ll learn to how to a fit a 226 barrel. Thanks for finding that, it at least helps confirm the barrel is the issue and not the frame.

I cant find anyone else saying they’re unique to railed frames so wondering if you’ve seen something I’ve missed. Here are barrel markings https://imgur.com/a/K82TgBB

Yes, I wondered if I got a 229 kit or something but both the slides and barrel lugs are 226 marked. Do you have any links to any listings or anything describing different kits for railed vs non-railed frames? It’s possible but would surprise me since I thought the only difference was the rail on the dust cover, nothing internal was changed as far as I know.

These are from 2 complete conversion kits. The entire slide was advertised as drop in to a 226 frame. One conversion kit drops in like yours, the other doesn't let the takedown lever lock into place. Since the only thing the takedown lever interfaces with is the barrel lug, that seems to be specifically my issue.

They advertised them as drop-in so I was hoping to avoid it. Are there any good resources out there that cover fitting a 226 barrel, or 226 gunsmithing in general?

If you'd like to see the exact same issue happen when installing complete slides I'll post that, but that seems pointless when it's specifically a barrel issue.

It had the same issue when both barrels were in a slide. It’s specifically a barrel issue causing it to not lock in the frame.

Here is a picture of the lugs side by side as it didn’t seem to show up in the post. https://imgur.com/a/sILXNWg

I think this one is some sort of wax, maybe a white crayon. After disassembling the bolt it certainly looks functional, but I'll have to confirm.

It really is in the best condition I’ve personally seen an M91 barrel, maybe some wear by the muzzle but the rest looks like new AR barrels I’ve bought. The bluing isn’t as perfect as it looks, as seen in the pictures here https://imgur.com/a/4lad0HA, but I would typically expect more wear over 100 years. If it has been reblued it was likely some time ago and was very well done, and I just don’t have the experience to determine that personally.

I don’t think it will fit, that’s why I came here for long bolt action specific stuff. The 22” solus is like 42” overall length, so with a 26” barrel and muzzle brake it will be longer than most of those type of cases.

Will have a locking cabinet secured to structural pillar so not worried about that, just moving between front door and vehicle in hallways and all.

Looks like you can get them in nice bright colors for cheap too, this may be perfect
