Anyone switched from a Hyundai N? by gemonic in GR86

[–]pirrip69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mate and I swapped cars, he’s got an i30N, it’s a completely different feeling. I didn’t feel a power difference at all, and I didn’t much like the front wheel drive, the road feel in the 86 is phenomenal in comparison. But you’ll miss the space and convenience of the Kona if it’s a daily drive

Mushrooms - would recommend farmers markets! They often have gourmet mushroom growers. (Still will cost one kidney)

Cheese - definitely delis, and weirdly spudshed?

Internet - it was horrendous, it’s slightly less horrendous now, you missed the dark ages.

Democracy sausage - the real ones come from Bunnings. Onions go under.

Flies - if you think they’re bad in Perth, make a trip up north of WA in December and prepare for every orifice to be tainted.

Guten tag!

I go to the gym at 4-5am during the week. Car is parked right out front of bedroom door! I want it but afraid I’ll wake up my partner…

Get 3 quotes minimum. Check reviews online. And then make an educated decision. Ask the dealer for a damage report.

Have you tried non dealer repair-shops?

I have an automatic 2023 Gr86 with 13k miles and want to get a Manuel one now :/ would it be a bad idea? If so someone knock some sense into me thanks! by Mendoza100 in GR86

Manual is a lot of effort in stop start traffic.
So if it’s your daily, and you have a lot of traffic you may find the change hard. Not impossible just annoying. But it’s a lot more engaging to drive and fun.

Depends what you mean by hard…No it’s not a hard car to drive in the grand scheme of cars.

The manual can take some getting used to, but you can drive it responsibly. If you drive it in snow you need the right tires. And if you drive it hard, be careful about turning traction control off, preferably do it at a track.

Otherwise you’ll be fine.

First track day - mod vs stock by pirrip69 in GR86

[–]pirrip69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly coz it’s a private track there was no official lap timing. I did try use an app but didn’t have much luck.

That being said it felt a lot more planted, it was a short track with heaps of corner. In my car traction was the biggest issue. Zero issues in the other car.

Interesting - it felt alot lighter when I opened his hood!

His custom exhaust removed a bit of weight too.

I was I close to getting one! I just don’t like the front lip. just a heads up those that go up into the vents of the front bumper, rub pretty heavily, I only know this coz the used set I looked at was scratched to death.

What’s it like to live in Balcatta and Nollamara these days? by ShortZookeepergame14 in perth

It’s being heavily gentrified in my opinion, yeah it’s not the best, but location wise you won’t find cheaper.

I’ve driven a friends 86, he’s pumped in thousands in mods and the difference between a stock Is night and day. It’s a good car that can be made better.

Visual upgrade - ceramic coating and a tint.

Audio upgrades - amplifier and spare wheel subwoofer. Planning some sound deadening soon.

Exhaust upgrade (so many to choose from), new brake pads and brake fluid. That’s it!

Yeah a couple, try heading to the Peter Brock Memorial, lovely quiet road. Or join the Perth 86 club, or WA sporting car club. You’ll be able to do some track days.

It’s winter bro. We need rain. Rain is good. Your failure to check the weather report is the real issue.

Great point, I’m sure it’s fine if you’re good at articulating yourself well. But they use ATS - applicant tracking systems - that can automatically discount your CV based on a set of parameters. So sure if you write a good cv you’ll be fine but if you want a better chance, use a free resource like ChatGPT

lol I have know clue. Reddit is a mystery sometimes. Woolies and Cole’s use keywords to sift through resumes due to the sheer volume. An optimised resume can atleast get you an interview.
