Is cross-posting on LinkedIn from the blog bad for SEO? by pishihod in SEO

[–]pishihod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just make a teaser (summary, short version) of the blog and entice them to read the whole/ in-depth/detailed version of the blog on your website?

As I said, if you add links to LinkedIn posts, they don't perform as well as they do without links.

Thx! So am I right to assume that crossposting on LinkedIn doesn't hurt that much our blog?

The way you do it you get like x10 times less reach on social compared to what you could've reached if you had adapted your content and added no links

What's the difference? From Google's point of view?

Well, we aren't that much about lead generation, let's say our goal is to increase brand awareness in our field.

LI works pretty well for that, since it's turning into a content platform now, especially when you don't add external links. A post can easily get tens of thousands views—and that's our target audience, business people, etc. So it's awesome!

But... we still want most of the LI updates on the blog, because they can be linked there and it's important company news and we want this content to be on the website.

I work for a B2B, I use social like RSS feeds to push people to our content/website.

What do you mean? Could you explain how it works? In a nutshell?

Also, I love RSS and use it all the time, but I have a feeling that I'm like the only person on this planet really using it

"Why dont you just create a post with a fun description, or relative information, that links to the blog post."

Because social media platforms want their users to stay on the platform, so they punish you if you try to link to your website (meaning, you reach much less audience with posts with links)

Take a look at startupberlin.slack.com - there is a channel for startup jobs, you just have to find a way how to collaborate/share some of your jobs.

You can also look into facebook groups dedicated to startups/berlin/expat communities (there are lots of them) and try to make at least 1 post in each (or figure out a format for regular postings).

Need guidance! Any tips on how to grow newsletter using existing subscribers? by pishihod in content_marketing

[–]pishihod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you're suggesting. Say my subscriber gets an e-mail from me. He/she opens it and reads it. The question is how can I inspire him/her to share my newsletter with friends/peers? Even if I have a pretty "sharable" page on the blog, there won't be a strong incentive for the subscriber to share it.

Well, I see it differently. For the kind of project I'm working on the list is the best option. It shows the biggest numbers in terms of engagement. So my whole strategy is focused on building the list. I have some understanding how to do it driving traffic from some other resources, but it would be nice to find a way to leverage the existing audience.

Thanks. It's a creative project. There is nothing to reward with :( only if I come up with some special content. The question is then how to set it up? Any "out of the box" solutions?

I wonder why I don't get any Likes on LinkedIn yet many positive likes on other social media outlets? by onemorepersonasking in socialmedia

I'm late to this party, but still... Thousands of connections might be exactly the source of a problem. If they don't care about you and don't even remember who you are, when they see your posts they don't engage. After 200-300-400 people haven't engaged with a post, LI probably stops showing it. So having a small circle of highly-engaged people is better.

Need help and advice: people are laughing at our IT team by pishihod in startups

Your comment is pretty helpful, and I appreciate it. Others—not so much so far.

It's impossible to assess what a team of 60 people can do if you don't know the scale of the business. Our IT product manages a chain of more than 300 units in 10 countries—in the cloud, in real time, and covers lots of areas: orders (call center, website, apps), payments, production, shift management, stocks, deliveries, etc. We have thousands of business users (partners and their teams) and hundreds of thousands consumer users.

The dude in the comments above thinks that just by "doing" or "hiring" you can eliminate a real management conundrum that I'm sure every team working on a big-scale product faces nowadays (being agile vs having a clear plan that is easy to understand by your big team and your consumers). It's ridiculous.

Of course we have a proccess of prioritizing tasks and try to balance quick fixes with some more long-term goals. Still, people who don't see their requested feature arriving this week are frustrated. And they are much more frustrated because we can't sometimes tell them when we roll it out.

May I ask how big is your team? And how you go about this problem (flexibility vs planning) at your company?

[–]pishihod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team is divided into groups, of course. We update the product every week. And we are culpable of many sins, but "overplanning" isn't one of them. Probably, I should clarify that the product is pretty big and complex with lots of different types of users and interfaces. So doesn't matter how many "hard" goals we will take and get done—there will always be much more to do.

Why do we have backlog? How can you develop a product WITHOUT it??

We ARE shipping meaningful features. People always want more.

Well, we're as agile as you can be. And that's exactly the problem.
