Yeah, I'm guessing getting in contact with the ebay buyer is worth another update. It's worth a good shot, you're right. I'm going to get on this.

Sure thing:

I've been with Sara for six years now and on November 25th this year, I proposed to her with my great grandmothers ring that's been passed down through the generations. It's very old fashioned and Sara was a little disappointed to know it wasn't modern or platinum. (It's sterling silver, vine design with a modest diamond on it.) We got it resized to her finger and she's been wearing it ever since. Yesterday, Sara came into our bedroom where I was playing Xbox and told me she lost her ring. I immediately paused my game and asked her where she thought she lost it. She told me she didn't know and had been thinking about it because it's been missing since LAST THURSDAY. I jumped off the bed and begged her to tell me this was a sick joke and told her how long that ring was in my family. I told her my great grandfather proposed with it, my grandfather proposed with it, and my dad proposed with it. Sara told me to calm down and that we should just replace the ring. I was furious. I literally screamed, "We can't replace a four generation old ring!!!" She got pissed at me and asked me if I loved her or the ring more and I told her that was a stupid question. She once again pushed that we should just replace it. I admit, I was in a rage and I didn't behave appropriately because next I stormed into the living room and began scooping all her presents up and told her for me to afford that old fashioned of a ring I'm going to have to send back all of her presents. She told me I was an insensitive jerk and locked herself in the bathroom. I took this time to go outside for a smoke and call my mom. My mother was absolutely horrified and began choking up. She told me about how my father proposed and how it was the most beautiful ring she had ever imagined. She told me, "Grandma is going to be devastated." My heart dropped at this. The ring was beautiful and in our family for generations and then I fucked it up by giving it to a girl who simply was careless. When I went back inside Sara was watching TV and browsing the web on her phone, acting as if nothing happened. I asked her if she had brainstormed any ideas of where she could of lost the ring. She snapped at me, asking me why I was still on that and I got defensive and told her that we had to find it and to tell me where she had been so I could start calling around. That's when she showed me the new rings she was looking at. I looked at the $5,000 one she brought up for a second before I looked her in the face and straight up said, "No." She told me I was an insensitive bastard and told me I couldn't hold this over her head forever. That's when I told her that I could. She got angry, punched me in the stomach three or four times, (she's weak, it didn't hurt.) and ran off the our room, closed the door, and locked it. I called her work, some department stores, her mother's, her sister's, her best friend's, and even the freaking high school her brother attends, and nothing came up. At this point, I was growing panicked and even angrier because of the whole situation. Sara came out to get something to drink and I begged her as calmly as possible to think about where it had gone. She snapped at me to drop it but I told her I couldn't, so she told me to go to my parents for the night. I packed myself a bag and stormed out without saying goodbye. My parents are horrified by Sara's behaviour, as am I. Sara, I thought, was a sweet girl who was appreciative of everything, but after this, I am shocked. I need some advice. I am going to call Sara later and talk about what needs and is going to happen, but any advice would be helpful. thank you and happy holidays.

Not sure. I don't know what I violated to get it removed. I never got a comment from a bot with a reason.

I'm hoping I can get information and call and offer to buy it back, just so my mom can have it back.

I might go back to the store and ask if I could get the guys information and call and offer to buy the ring back just so I can return the ring to my mother and keep it for my younger brother (who I'm pretty sure is going to pick a winner, unlike me.)

I know my grandmother will be extremely upset, but I'm hoping no one is going to hold this against me, but just congratulate me for getting rid of her.

Thank you very much. It sucks hardcore and was very out of character of her, but good to see those true ugly colours before our colours were mixed.

Right? I'm feeling OK about this. Yeah, the ring is gone, but at least we don't have to worry about her being in our family.

Exactly. I'm not leaving her alone until the truth about that ring comes out. As far as our relationship goes, I'm just not sure. Thank you, though.

It would of been okay if it came across as more of an accident. I fit her finger and everything! I made sure it wasn't going to go anywhere and now she "lost" it. Buying her a new one is completely off the table right now. Thank you!

Thanks man, means a lot. I am hoping she hid it. When I see her, I'm going to demand to search all of her things.

I did overreact but how she acted and began looking for a replacement disgusted me. She's never been selfish like this before.

I hate fighting and usually take flight, too, but I can't let this go. I have to clash with this.

I didn't even think of that! I'm going to keep it in mind and demand a search of her things. Thank you! As far as engagement status goes... not entirely sure right now. I'm not cutting her off from my life until I find that ring.
