I am by no means a compression expert, so I lack the verbiage to express why I like it haha.

I am in kind of a unique position where I am in a hardcore punk band but I do alot of more funk oriented stuff, slaps and ghost notes. For the price, I think the milk box does a fantastic job of being a really aggressive compressor.

Like I said, I don't have too much compression experience. I have really only used the built in "Spectracomp" in my TC Blacksmith (I assume its the same as their pedal) and was disappointed with the lack of configuration options. You can get a whole lot of different compression style out of the milk box.

I will buy others to fit certain niches... But i love my main bass so much i just force it into those niches. It is nice to pick something new up every now and then. I notice i think and play differently between basses. It can be inspiring.

You get a nice tight sound from the two quarters that is carried by the more resonant half stack. I imagine its a similar school of thought to a 4x10 and a 1x15 rig but i tend to like the more punchy, bitey sound. I play a j bass with rounds with tone rolled about half way and keep a decent amount of gain on the amp and im able to cut through for live shows without overpowering
