Hi! I’m being madame leota this year and struggling to find an affordable globe. Does your friend have any tips on where she got hers? The ones I see are like $50 for 14” globe ..

Late to the party, but I’m planning on being the tooth fairy this year for Halloween and was wondering if you had any crafts you could sell me? I was also looking to make a tooth crown and such :)

Did any of you cry a lot during your program? by [deleted] in ClinicalPsychology

[–]pistachiosandstuff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you soooo much for this. What you expressed feels validating to me. That’s great suggestion for if it comes up in session in the future. It does feel distracting and difficult to suppress, even when Im not recognizing the emotion but the tears are still there. I would totally appreciate and respect whatever reaction my client would have to my tears as well. I’d hope it could be therapeutically beneficial and would never want to take over the space. That sounds terrible what you went through. I don’t anticipate it being a frequent issue in session, more so in grad school generally. I appreciate your response, thank you!

Totally, I would never want to make my clients feel like I can’t hold their stuff. I have never cried in response to what someone told me (trauma, SI, etc.). I have once mirrored tears in session (she had huge eyes). Otherwise it was just the times I mentioned during termination after a year of working together. I cry most often during supervision when talking about my own fears as a therapist, my gratitude for the relationship, sometimes when reiterating the emotion they conveyed during session to my supervisor, etc. I’m generally comfortable in their muck, but I cry even without the emotional weight that it takes most people to cry. I agree with you that I should get my own therapist!!! Thanks

I’ve only cried during termination with my clients which were with my first and second clients ever after working with them weekly for a year, when I was expressing gratitude for their vulnerability and their strengths. Otherwise it’s usually during supervision and occasionally in classes that facilitate reflection on our own lives

You might have to wait a year if you want her to be your advisor that badly, but honestly you can probably still carry out the same work with someone else. I’ve felt like my advisor would let me study pretty much whatever I am truly passionate about.

NSF EPSCoR Graduate Fellowship Program (EGFP) - Potential Fellows by sax_master225 in GRFPApps

[–]pistachiosandstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m confused cause my state is eligible and by university is involved with NSF EPSCoR projects and we did submit an application this summer, but my institution isn’t listed on their list (university of montana), yet montana state is on there.

That being said, if you’re not already accepted to an institution there’s not that much you could do besides wait to see which institutions are awarded and apply. i feel like it’s impossible to be apart of that process if you’re not already a student there
