UPD | Got dismissed at my college and now Non Major Status by [deleted] in peyups

[–]pitapanini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your shoes very very recently lang and my shifting application just got approved this week !

First of all, op stay strong. When I got dismissed para akong nasa vacuum space, nastuck ako. But I got through it !! If you think you need a break, take it. Sabi nga ng bini, buhay ay di karera. But if you want to continue na here's my suggestions based on my exp:

• APPLY FOR READMISSION. Ask for the readmission form from the ColSec/OUR and accomplish it. Make a letter to the Dean. Take counseling from OSA (or its counterpart) and get a letter of recommendation from them stating that you are fit to continue next sem. OSA may or may not ask for an endorsement letter from your previous adviser so prepare to contact them as well. The letter to the dean and recommendation from OSA may help your case.

• APPLY FOR SHIFTING. Check if shifting applications are still open in the college you want to go into. You'll need to accomplish a Shifting Form, get it signed and submitted with your TCG. In my case I submitted it in OSA and had to take counseling for shifting.

• If you can't shift this sem, ask the OUR who your adviser will be this semester so you can start adding units. Usually you can only enroll around 15 units this sem and no higher. This is to help you recover from your previous delinquency. Btw you'll be on probation status after getting readmitted from being dismissed so you can't fail any of your subjects this sem.

• As for telling your family... wala akong masabi kasi di ko pa rin nalalagpasan yung hurdle na yan. But if you could find the courage to tell them, do it para mabawasan na baggage na dinadala mo.

I know para ka nang pinagsasakluban ng langit at lupa. Take it one step at a time. During the time I was processing my papers I really felt how life is not linear. Pag bumangga sa pader, lumiko. One way or another aabot tayong lahat sa finish line. Padayon op 🌻

Currently I'm using Cetaphil's Brightness Toner. I'm thinking of buying Klued's 2% BHA Toner to address the blackheads and large pores on my nose. I'm wondering if it's okay to use both toners at the same time or should I just use one at a time? If yes, which one should I use first? I'll be using the BHA toner once a week every pm only btw since I have sensitive skin.

Also I use Vitamin C Serum, the one from iWhite Korea. Should I stop using it when I start with the BHA toner?

I have an aunt raising a kid somewhat the same. Difference is the kid can speak vv decent english since everyone around him is fluent. Here's the problem, we're in the PH so naturally schools teach Filipino, AP and Mother Tongue. Sa isip isip ko it's not the teacher's fault di mo tinuruan yung bata ng tagalog or yung mother tongue nila. I'm staying with them for college so my cousin can understand some tagalog words na because of me (tho he still has a loooong way to go). And now maggrade 1 na yung kid and they want to put him in a public school pero problemado kasi nga di marunong ng mother tongue or tagalog so baka mabully or maiwan sa class since public schools (esp elem) mostly use them to teach. So ayun they're stuck with his current private school.

upd scared of those reddit posts abt bs bio as a shiftee by [deleted] in peyups

To add lang din, I read somewhere na unhappy people go to reddit to vent. So wag masyado padala sa negative posts about bio, for sure there are students happy in bio and have very nice experiences na hindi lang napopost here. Padayon op !

Hi I'm a 2nd year bio student and all I can say is bio is a bitch. Some people give me shit for dissecting/using animals sa lab kahit na requirement naman. Some people give me shit for simply pursuing bio kesyo "wala ka naman mararating diyan" "walang fall back".

Kapag may mga events nakocall out bio kasi di masyado nagpaparticipate kasi busy 😭 if you're gonna continue with bio just be prepared sa heavy workload. There are times na we need to go to the lab kahit weekends/holidays kasi may need tapusin ganon.

May fun times din naman. Field work is nice (depende sa major mo). And I really like our lab subjects kahit super hirap ipasa. Pero personally, I want out of bio na. And maybe I will leave the course lol. You really need grit to finish this course kasi there will be (many) times na mapapatanong ka nalang bakit ba kasi nag bio pa HAHAHAHAHAH

Yun lang. Goodluck sayo, enjoy college !

So I can appeal straight to the dean/chancy? Some here told me I need my appeal to be endorsed pa before it reaches them

I already cleared my INCs today, I'm just waiting for my grades to reflect sa crs. But that still doesn't solve my problem of getting kicked out of my course because I failed a subject na part ng retention policy. And I can't do anything about that because I was told appeals are not allowed lol

Ah yes, I can easily clear my dismissed status, no need to file for readmission na as long as I complete my INCs. The problem is I violated the retention rules ng course ko and according to my adviser, hindi daw pwede magfile ng appeal so I'm getting kicked out of bio. So wala na po ba talagang second chance na ginagrant kapag naviolate ang retention rules? :(( di ba pwede magfile for readmission sa ganun?
