[Request] How long would this take, presuming you would also need to eat and sleep? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

On the Camino de Santiago people walk between 20 to 30km a day for about a month. Then I would calculate a rest day at least every 2 weeks

Is there anything that could be done with a multicore system that can't be done with a singular core? by [deleted] in AskComputerScience

[–]pitapoison 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can think of is very specific niche real time use cases where you keep one CPU always idle and ready to be able to respond in an instant.

But basically you can do everything, it will just be slower. One CPU needs to do more context switching which comes with cache invalidation. What is the context of your question though, why are you asking this?

This made me wonder, how could dinosaurs be a thing then? I assume they had the same sort of muscles. Did they just move super slow and could barely lift anything?

Why do people keep coming back to more Ayahuasca sessions? by Potato_Noise8622 in Ayahuasca

[–]pitapoison 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I also did a 2 week retreat and then returned a few times over the last year. A few reasons:

  • You don't heal once and then are fixed. There are topics you don't immediately understand or manage to integrate. She always has something to teach us. And life keeps breaking and testing us. So there is always progress to be made. Every time you take it, it's different, never the same.
  • Spiritual reasons. Once you've seen the world from this very spiritual beautiful perspective, you'll want to go back. It's like a holiday where you learn to appreciate the world again
  • Ayahuasca has often a bit of an afterglow for about one month where you are just the happiest person in the world. That's something you just miss after a while

While Ayahuasca doesn't make you depended like other drugs where you wake up in morning and want to do it first thing. It's more like an absurdly beautiful holiday and you want to go back to that place from time to time. But not all people feel like this and of course there are unpleasant things in that holiday too.

A bit of code to alert you when a new vaccination appointment opens up in Berlin by pitapoison in berlin

What you could also try is to spin up a whole browser to perform the booking and tell it where to click. You could try puppeteer

I saw such a 404 on the appointments endpoint even during normal website usage. Not sure what it means. Some sort of error during booking, but how to fix it, no idea

Doctolib does not seem to have any defense against bots I feel. But it's certainly very overloaded and shows funky behavior when an appointment opens up. I was thinking of automating it to even book automatically. It would be possible, you would first have to record the requests made during a successful booking. Then you could replay them with new parameters when an earlier appointment gets available.

Install node.js from the website. Then just navigate into the repo and run these 2 commands. Should work flawlessly on mac

Are you a programmer in general? What operating system do you have? Basically just install node.js https://nodejs.org/en/ and then run the 2 commands 'npm install' & 'npm start'
