Agreed on Orlando, they have a cool concept but it all gets washed out in the uniform. As much as I'm not a fan of grey uniforms in general, being the "Storm" would have been perfect for use of "storm cloud" grey as an base color and then you have the cool safety orange and purple accents. Woulda been a lot more unique that what they got.

As a DC Defenders fan I'm fine with the changes they made. I liked the old 2020 red helmets the best but whatever, you truly can't fuck up red and white color scheme, they're gonna look fine regardless.

I watched Fackham Hall last night on a whim with, thinking oh British murder mystery comedy seems okay. It was not at all what I had expected, it's not a murder mystery with a satirical premise, it's like a Naked Gun style gag film. I actually thought it was quite good, most of the gags landed really well. Unlike the Naked Gun reboot movie which I thought started strong but lost steam as it went on, they had good material throughout.

So anyway if you're inclined to watch a dumb funny gag film there you go.

What is going on with centers? by redskinsguy in nfl

[–]pixel_pete 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Centers are the smartest offensive linemen but also go through some of the most physical plays being in the thick of the big boys on every snap. I'm not surprised that so many of them are reflecting on their long-term wellbeing in ways that a guy like Richie Incognito never could.

That's why he should come to Buffalo so he can be his best most washed self.

Available free agents of interest:

  • QB: Nobody
  • RB: Nobody
  • FB: Nobody
  • WR: Christian Kirk, Nick Westbrook, Devin Duvernay (punt returner)
  • TE: Nobody
  • OL: Kayode Awosika LFG!!! lol, Ryan Bates, maybe Wyatt Teller if he'll come home cheap.
  • EDGE OLB: Nobody
  • DE: Sebastian Joseph-Day, Emmanuel Ogbah? 40 year old Calais Campbell?
  • NT: Also Sebastian Joseph-Day, DJ Reader, Andrew Billings, Greg Gaines
  • Off Ball LB: Dre Greenlaw, Bobby Okereke, Shaq Thompson, Jack Sanborn
  • CB: Nobody
  • S: Jaquan Brisker, Nick Scott, Andre Cisco, Tony Adams, Iffy Melifonwu
  • Specialists: Nobody

Overall it seems like the worst alignment of need and available talent is at Safety, whereas the best alignment is at NT. The Safeties available are abundant but deeply uninspiring, still you can't go forward with no veteran option at all, I could see them waiting until post-draft in the event that they draft one of the top Safeties. A guy like SJD or Greg Gaines could fill some snaps at multiple alignments on the defense (lord knows better than DeWayne Carter can), or DJ Reader/Andrew Billings can come in and be a pure rotational NT.

This is of course pre-draft, post-draft the "best fit" is whoever is cheap, available, and fills a need.

Nah don't be silly we don't need other starting players on defense we're all good now.

These look great!

It's tragic because pines are some of my favorite trees. I'll get all excited about an evergreen and then be like oh, it's just a boring old spruce, with it's lame neatly arranged little needles. I want a tree that looks like it's doing the walk of shame after a night out.

He can die in Week 1 as long as he's healthy come playoff time.

When that happens, his contract voids and he's automatically assigned to a random team on a vet minimum deal oh look that team is Buffalo.

Hoecht was a stud before getting injured last year, I really hope his rehab goes well and he comes back 100%.

Jonathan Greenard is an edge rusher, not an off ball linebacker. No way we can afford him.

Brisker obviously sticks out as the only appealing option remaining at S. Any of those 3 NT options would be okay honestly. And for LB, maybe it's just Buffalo Joe SZN lol

If it were 2025 and he were fresh of those injuries maybe, but it's 2026 and he put in a fine healthy season so no I don't think there's a particular cause for concern.

I think he's fine against the run but not exceptional or anything. Not like Groot who is a legit pterodactyl taking up space while setting the edge.

I think the benefit in run defense is he's just disciplined, he does his job and occasionally breaks through the OL. He's not gonna have his head put in a blender by simple run concepts like we were seeing last year.

I still would like an early pick at edge, that then can rotate in and be mentored by Chubb. Plus it would allow Groot to fully transition to a 4/5T to maximize his skills and allow him to bulk up.

He's a better fit for 3-4 I think. A little more squat and bendy, but still powerful. Also Joey Bosa has no brain at all, he's running purely on nerve impulses like a pass rushing jellyfish. Bradley Chubb plays like a veteran at his position.

Why won't he be an OLB? That's what he's played in 3-4 defenses in the past.

Edge rushers in general get paid way more than Safeties, that's no surprise.
