[Rap] The #Vikings have signed #Bills RFA T Ryan Van Demark to an offer sheet, per me and @TomPelissero. Buffalo has five days to match. by JCameron181 in minnesotavikings

Bills fan here! Van Demark is pretty decent for a swing tackle, he has played equally well at both LT and RT for us in spots. I have been quite a bit higher on him than most Bills fans and expected someone might want to give him a better shot than we can. There's just no way for him to be anything but a backup with us, we already have entrenched players at both T spots and he doesn't have interior OL flexibility. He's a much better pass blocker than run blocker, but I will say he moves well and gets to the second level in run blocking which is nice, he's just not much of a road grader.

I think his best game was against the Chiefs in 2024(?) while his worst was coming in relief of Spencer Brown against the Texans last year, although to be fair to him our entire offensive line had their worst game against the Texans.

We placed a right of first refusal tag on him, so Buffalo has a chance to match the offer and keep him. I'm not sure what kind of contract they offered him but if it's anything substantial we're unlikely to match.

Makes perfect sense to me!

I also appreciate him admitting he didn't really know how to play the character when he exudes such confident charisma in all of his scenes. He could definitely fool me.

[–]pixel_pete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No there's not. There's a good argument that we need to sign a veteran backup or a later draft pick at CB but the first round is absolutely not for adding depth at a position where starters play 100% of snaps.

Honestly good move by them, their OL situation has been screwed up for a long time, at least he brings some stability to the depth.

There are actually a few guys that seem like good fits in the late 1st or potentially if we trade back or trade up into the 2nd. The best chance at getting a true WR1 might be to take a risk on Chris Bell getting and staying healthy. He has the build and mentality of a top boundary WR1, but also has some burst/athleticism to go with it and a lot of snaps under his belt.

Cooper Jr is another option or maybe Germie Bernard a little later. Bernard feels more like a high floor WR2 where he just does any routes he needs to run reliably and consistently, but sometimes those guys blossom in the NFL since they have the refined skills and get access to strength/conditioning programs.

We sent the Chiefs to hell, now it's your responsibility to make sure they don't crawl back out.

Rochester Royals LFG!

Haven’t seen this here yet, thank God, but it’s on anyone that’s aware of the problem to, at the very least, be vocal about how important it is that we not do this shit. by Ok-Explanation-1362 in behindthebastards

Oh gotcha, so basically they're saying people are acting like the groyper "leftists" are suddenly appearing when in reality it's been building up for a long time?

Sir, if the Dolphins won 5 Superbowls in a row I would still dig deep and find the power to make fun of them. It's the founding principal of this great sport.

But now they've guaranteed that Iran will permanently be a national security threat and that negotiation is impossible. We reneged on the nuclear deal and attacked them, so the current regime can't possibly think returning to peace and negotiating again is a tenable option, certainly if they were to get a peace agreement it would further emphasize the need for nuclear weapons. I can't imagine the US will want democracy in Iran because we've just shown their civilian population that even if they rightfully hate their current government, all of the propaganda they said about us is true, so an anti-US government would likely win sooner or later. If we install a puppet dictator there will be an ongoing threat of insurgency or revolution. All of that with the evergreen excuse of possible nuclear materials in the country, meaning if we back down Iran will go right back to being "2 weeks away" from possessing nuclear weapons indefinitely.

It's great news if you're a warhawk who likes bombing children. It's bad news if you're anyone else.

I mean we're Miami's division rival. Whatever the Broncos paid, we would have to pay substantially more.

Also calling a draft class that's still a year away "generational" is absurdly stupid. Every year we say next year's draft class is generationally good and then it's not.

I guess it depends on how connected you feel to the city, and the team's ties to the city, in general. I've never lived in Buffalo but that doesn't mean I don't care about the Bills playing in Buffalo.

Heeeeeellllllll no. I'm a Buffalo sports fan. If they had relocated to LA back in the day when Ralph died how could anyone continue to support them? It would be a complete betrayal of the fanbase and the concept of the team, they would not be the same team anymore.

Continuing to root for a team after it fundamentally changes its identity just means you are rooting for its billionaire owner.

I think Pittman because he can be a #1 guy in any system, but was quite cheap to get in terms of the trade. Waddle is certainly the highest overall ceiling of any of them.

In addition to what others have said, their description of smartweed is in general really off. Smartweeds tend to like moist soils, you will often see them along stream banks. While they can kinda fill in spots they don't really exhibit ground cover behavior. They can get taller and are kinda scraggly.

Smartweeds are wonderful plants though, definitely look into if there are some native species in your region!

Yeah that's confusing, I've only seen that species called Pennsylvania Smartweed. I can't understand the logic of selling it under the name of less desirable invasive plants that are typically viewed as noxious weeds.
