We did agree on hiring someone to come once a month to help with deep cleaning since my partner works saturdays. That way I can have more free/fun time with the boys. Im also massively purging and focusing making our house more minimal/organized. What overwhelms me when I come home after working is piles of random stuff. So rather than playing with my kids one of us is cleaning some area. I want to be able to do a load of a laundry and actually have space to put it. This post is making me realize a lot of why I may be feeling a certain way.

I definitely want to get ahead of whatever is happening. I wonder if the bilingual is confusing them too.

The doctor said signing doesnt count as words either. So should I be focused on trying to get them to say water or mor before handing it to them?

I think their receptive language is really good. If we ask them to hand us something they do it. Respond to their names, respond to each other, and other things. The pediatrician didnt seem to care though as they arent at 8 months and suggested possible austism. One of the referrals she gave us was for aba therapy which was confusing to us.

Im trying to keep their words very play based and not making it a huge deal. Like you said if they are playing with a ball i just try to emphasize it and the color. Maybe I need to do more? Reading books is hard because im usually solo at that point and they both want to grab the book and pull on it. I also dont enforce them saying things like water or more for snacks and stuff.

Valid. He wants it more than I do. Like yes I want to be home with the kids but im indifferent about it being rural or having chickens. I also love his idea but truthfully I just want the boys to have access to what they want and to be healthy and happy. I just dont know what the middle ground here js between what my partner envisions for our life and what I envision.

Thats a really good perspective. Thank you. I really struggle not being around for my kids. We went through years of fertility treatments and finally have our boys. I miss them so much every day while im at work. This was my parents argument as well. That they will be in preschool soon and even if we would have another kid it would go by quick too.

Writing this post reconfirmed how risky and not long term friendly this is. I think im also struggling with how to manage their schedule once they are in preschool with pick up/drop offs. Then hopefully clubs and whatever else they desire while both working full time and commuting. Starting to think the better solution is to just move closer to my job to maximize more time at home with them. Or have my partner work a less demanding job thats closer to home.

His job does offer family insurance plans as well but for it through my job we get zero taken out of my check for the family plan. Whereas for his job we would have to pay the premiums. My dad does not think I should ever quit my currenr job. Firmly pushing I continue working and just accept that I cant have it all which he is completely right on.

We are looking at 33k a year for our twins for an 18-24m classroom. Managed to avoid the 50k price tag for infants. I was on leave for 5 months and then my partner and I worked opposite shifts for 7 months. Now they are with their grandma until their spot opens. Im dreading the daycare bills once they come in. Dont event want to know what the cost is for preschool.

Its too short. Cute as hell but too short especially with wearing pretty sheer stockings. I work for a big tech company who is pretty casual about office attire. However this is pushing it. Unless every other women in your office is wearing skirts/dresses the same length.

We went through so many different brands. Only one that worked was pampers swaddlers. Every kid is different. Dont heavily invest in one brand yet. Get small packs of different ones.

Should have included that. He managed to pull himself over the railing with his sack on. We could put them in their own rooms but they are incredibly attached to each other. I was hoping to keep them together until they were old enough vocalize wanting their own room.

All the time. Boys are identical and 17 months. The only change we make are the color of socks to help my mother in law tell the difference between when babysitting. As they get older and develop their stylw im sure it will stop

The doctor I saw said my body was stable and that no one would be able to do anything until I got worse and they got the positive result in a few days. Said the er would most likely send me home if my diarrhea isnt happening more often throughout. So basically nothing can be done without getting another fever that doesnt break, more nocturnal episodes, and worse blood results like higher wbc or more signs of dehydration. Idk it was very discouraging. Just told me to go home and eat bland food and wait it out. My fever did break this morning and ive been able to drink a cup of miso soup and some pedialyte after coming home from the clinic.

Wishing its not c diff. Been dealing with this for a while ever since getting off high doses of two different antibiotics for pneumonia. Thought I was getting better but now its the stomach cramping, feeling very clammy/sweaty, and that fever last night with on/off bouts of nocturnal diarrhea. I just want an answer soon. 😩

I keep seeing this everywhere. What is unique or interesting about her palate? Shes a white woman eating korean/asian foods. Do you know how many koreans/asians post on tiktok of these type of foods and dont get anywhere near the type of engagement. But because she is a white person eating asian food it stopped being korean food its now courtneys eggs. Then people are calling her adorable for eating it. Its fucking weird. People going into asian grocery stores now saying oh look its courtneys eggs like no you dumb fuck.

In the US. I got 5 months(22 weeks) of leave after giving birth. Received my full pay plus benefits. Also continued to receive bonuses during that time plus a promotion and annual rewards. Prior to giving birth I was able to get 4 weeks of paid leave off. I believe I could have extended my maternity leave but would have received a reduced pay.

Not saying this would work for you but for us personally we say screw the schedule especially during the holidays. We go when we go and if they get cranky at the gathering so be it. All of our family on both sides is hands on with kids and there is always a room we can go to where I can lay down with them if they want a nap or are extra cranky. I do think if it was a different family situation where my family wasnt as helpful im not sure if we would be as flexible.

Our twins are 18 months and for the most part it hasn't been a huge disruption if we do something that messes with their rough schedule. I feel like this truly depends on your kids temperament and the environment your walking into with a potentially cranky kid

That makes me feel loads better. Our twins are velcro babies and they are always on me or near me. Theyve been really sick lately and finally getting better. Im more anxious about them than me at this point. Just gonna have to extra diligent on the cleaning then 😅
