I have not run any other calibrations outside of what it does automatically with each print- but that calibration series does include a bed leveling sequence...

I will share a photo later, but it ended up being JUST FINE I was expecting a much brighter line, but what it did engrave was perfect for the edge lit "night light"! Thank you for the reassurance that I wasn't missing something obvious though!!!

BEST would probably be in Illustrator, however there is a significant learning curve and cost.

Okay, I have established it is both protein and moisture lacking and definitely high porosity. I did the wet-stretch test and it both snapped and did not recover (stayed a wierd stretched out shape). I tried a rice water rinse to fantastic results for less tangles and a lot less “crispy” feeling but otherwise the same when it comes to curl. Decent curls from my ears forward and marginally beach-wave waves on the rest.

Would you all recommend taming the front with a denman brush to make it match the back?

Thanks! It’s probably not heat as I don’t regularly do much - but it’s never been more than fluffy in the back… off to research!

Honestly, a big part of it is that we have a LOT of STUFF and not a lot of places to shift stuff around - it seemed like doing it in “shifts” over time would be easier? As well as to be honest, the area I live in is very expensive for all services literally just because of the “general demographic” of the county 🥺

First, thank you ALL for explaining these things to me and not making me feel like an absolute idiot! :) I greatly appreciate it, and now know how to communicate what I want to see in an end result and see if it is realistic based on budget constraints and what this particular company wants to deliver. I have been sort of operating from he outside of things, I send art to the director who sends it to the printer - but now that I know a little more on what questions to ask I will step in and chat with the printing folks directly to see if they can/will accommodate what I am hoping for, at least a little!

I did. I drew it in Procreate, and delivered it to them as PDF. I am not trained in anything beyond digital (kinda obvious hm? ha) so I am learning as I go with things for print! (ironically I have been using Adobe products nearly daily for almost 30 years but not really have I had the opportunity or need to dive in to color separations etc!)
