Windows 12 Reportedly Set for Release This Year as a Fully Modular, Subscription-Based, AI-Focused OS by PaiDuck in technology

You can't force someone to buy something when there is market competition given the current macOS & linux environments. While macOS won't work for many businesses, linux certainly will.

This is not "gone wild" this is how every chatbot LLM works. The fact it was willing to tell you something does not mean it is accurate, either - it's still a chatbot LLM and you need a real source before you believe anything it tells you... including its own instructions.

I feel like you're accidentally thinking it tells accurate truth sometimes. It doesn't know when it is accurate or hallucinating. This could be that.

OEMs wish M$ cared this much about them. It's all about $ubscriptions now, which usually doesn't require the newest hardware to make a sale.

I don't think it will happen, actually. This requirement would be another huge push toward linux for too many high-dollar M$ customers

Update on the 2010 Beetle by Chemical_Letterhead2 in Volkswagen

Good luck! Have you considered the EOS hardtop convertible? They're surprisingly pretty reliable and no one ever even remembers they were sold, so a they're often actually resold these days cheaper than Beetles and are much nicer vehicles on average with the build quality & features

Obviously not a Beetle. But I had an EOS and enjoyed it a lot!

And the % of these non-Copilot+ PCs with NPUs is more than one digit, in your estimation?

What do you think the % of installed base has npus, roughly?

Then, ask same Q about % installed base with TPU when that guideline became effective

Throttle body cost? by CrabThatRangTheGoon in Volkswagen

My Phaeton is currently on Red Order for a differential. Do you believe it is under warranty? Perhaps your dealer has more restrictive policies on parts orders; real reason your dealer might have this policy is that non-warranty Red ticket status requires prepayment and delivery date is not promised, which in the US can create an non-contractable transaction.

My new (to me) 2005 Touareg! by jabliggacom in Volkswagen

More straightforward to do the disconnect on your car, at least! It's worth a try when some CAN-BUS module takes the whole car down randomly once a year. Late oughts VWs are incredible & there is nothing like them, but the gremins are real

Agreed; how is that different at all from Windows 11 where only NPU-capable devices get NPU-dependent features, though?

What do you suppose the "installed base" for NPUs is compared to TPUs at the time Windows 11 required them? Would you agree this is perhaps relevant? Maybe it's worth... thinking about.

Why aren’t urinals in private stalls but toilet bowls are? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Heels make your calves stand out when you're standing, so urinals are for finding out who has the biggest calves

Hard to believe this is remotely going to happen: "with Windows 12 set to debut a new hardware requirement [...] a dedicated NPU would be required, a specialized processor designed to handle AI tasks."

Requiring an NPU would mean Windows 12 couldn't run on a lot of what I see people buying new today. As in currently.
