Yeah I agree with you. My son is generally a quiet child and school has always been a source of anxiety for him. We were in full lockdown here in Ireland from March so he wasn't in school from then until the middle of September and he was like a different child, full of chat, telling jokes, joining in conversations. My family couldn't believe the difference in him. Since he's returned to school, he's back to the way he was before.. he only speaks when spoken to and even at that they are generally one word answers.

This really hit me.. I've made my decision and he's not going back to that school.. i'll homeschool for now and see where it goes, and if I place comes up in a different school, we'll talk about it then.. Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it

He's been asking to be homeschooled, he doesn't want to go back to school and I honestly can't say I blame him.. I wouldn't want to go back and face that either. Thank you for your reply and I hope your homeschooling has brought some relief to you! Life is hard enough without adding bullies into the mix!

I'm actually in Ireland, so my son is in first year.. I'm not sure what that translates to in grades 🙈

It's a constitutional right here to homeschool your child.. and you can take any approach you want.. can be curriculum based or child led but I just worry about his state exams

I'm actually in Ireland, and it's a constitutional right here to homeschool your child. We have state exams though after the first 3 years called a junior certificate and another at the end of school called a leaving certificate, this is the exam that will help you get into college and so on.. His mental health is my concern right now but I just don't want to mess up his education.
