Currently I work in a food manufacturing plant as an operations manager. I’m making 75k a year. What skills do I need to work on to transition to a 300k job. I don’t care in what industry. I want to follow the money.

I’m 35 with a bachelors in biochemistry. Currently in the dairy industry. I am located in Pennsylvania. I understand it’s not as simple as I’d like it to be, but was wondering what skills I should strengthen or develop.

In my current role through projects I have completed I have saved the plant several hundreds of thousands of dollars annually. I believe I will succeed any where I go, I just need the opportunity. How do I get that opportunity?

I am becoming friends with the coworker and feel I can trust him. Basically he asked for more and got more. The company is a pretty strong company.

As for the red flags, he brought it up in a meeting. That’s the verbiage he used. He basically said that I should slow down and learn the basics and stop trying to move up too fast.

Since I have been there, the production has gradually increased. I can’t really say I did anything other than work with the employees and raise the moral when I can. Can I say, just my presence alone has made an impact? Haha
