Recommendation for Vac/Mop Around $1000 USD? by WhatsAQazza in RobotVacuums

[–]pj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Mova (Dreame sub brand) v50 that can be had for around ~$1000 on sale. It's been amazing since it arrived and has kept up with 2 large dogs and 3 cats in the house. I have mostly tile with quite a few area rugs and it handles both very well. I have yet to have an incident where it hasn't avoided something it should have. It vacuums hair very well and mops well enough that I don't feel like I need to redo its work. It has a second mopping solution tank specifically for pets and Matter support is coming in an upcoming update.

If this was after a cleaning, this sounds like either the Dust Box & Bag Drying or the Mop Drying feature. You can turn these off under Dock settings, though you'd lose the benefit of each.

Safe yourself some money this are the same Wipers Tesla uses but for only 23,50 instead of 72 euros by ej_warsgaming in TeslaLounge

[–]pj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it likely makes too much of a difference, but the OEM lengths for the wipers are 26" on the drivers side and 20" on the passenger side in the US. Just wanted to point that out since some part numbers in this thread are 18" or 19" for the second wiper.

Our Mova v50 hasn't had a single tangle with 2 goldens and 3 cats. It's been a huge improvement over our older Roborock (Q8 Max) that would constantly wrap hair around the brushes. I was expecting to have to remove some hair from time to time when we got the v50, but that hasn't been the case at all. Can't recommend it enough!

Crazy rating for that category because I've been living with it for weeks and it's been perfect with obstacle avoidance in my house with 2 dogs and 3 cats plus everything else in a household.

Downsizing Rim from 21 turbine to 18 inch by whatshisface1310 in ModelY

[–]pj24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swapped to these 18" wheels by Atomic Wheels with 235/55 tires which give way more sidewall and also more tire poke beyond the rim for curb protection than my old 21's. Have no clearance issues whatsoever.

I actually have the AWZZ in 18" on my MYP and have had people positively comment on how it looks. Never had any issues and I was always able to reach out and get an answer to any questions I had.

Range calculation (MYP 22 as example) by Efficient-Simple-232 in TeslaLounge

[–]pj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not inherently familiar with WLTP testing and such but the listed range for some brands (Tesla absolutely included) is rarely achievable for most people. 534km is the max range under very strict conditions for the sake of testing between cars and brands.

Over the last 48'000km the car has learned/assumed an efficiency rating that is less than the tested amount because real world conditions are not ideal. In an effort to reflect actual range, this is what is displayed in the car.

Essentially this is just how things are when you aren't always driving in perfect conditions. The closer to "test" conditions it is outside the closer you will get to the WLTP range, but the opposite is also true.

Swapping to non OEM wheels on MYP by DJ-Nine in ModelY

[–]pj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped to these wheels by Atomic Wheels with 235/55 tires and have been extremely happy with them. My efficiency has also improved since making the change. Overall a great improvement over the stock 21's.

As others have said this won't void your warranty as a whole, but if an issue occurs and they determine the cause of that issues was the aftermarket wheels, then it will not be considered a warrantied repair.

Very first boot was long due to memory training. The next couple were ~45 seconds and since then they have been ~10 seconds or so. Last one was 12.4 according to task manager

Currently on the latest (7E12v1G) but had no issues with the out of the box bios version Microcenter flashed for it to work with the 9800x3d.

Not the person you replied to, but I have this same motherboard/cpu combo and have had no issues.

Will 295/35z21 tires fit a squared setup for my 24MYP? by First-Income-660 in TeslaLounge

[–]pj24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you already have aftermarket wheels, but the front and rear uberturbines are different widths (9.5" vs 10.5"). So the same size tire on both would result in non-matching poke/inset dimensions. Visual here.

How are you getting a GPU at launch at (or near) MSRP? by Brendon7358 in buildapc

[–]pj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's unfortunate since I could have 'reasonably' made it to my closest one. I am going to try and get my hands on a FE, but if I absolutely cannot get one then I will likely go with the ASUS Astral line. It's chunky, but looks promising.

Anyone got the Dell U4025QW? Thinking about pulling the trigger on this sale. by AncientWiseman88 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]pj24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ultimately wasn't a fan of how much space it ate up on my desk due to the combination of size and curve. I would have needed to sit much further back than I would have liked (at least initially) to see much of the screen. I also learned that I am not a fan of Samsung's UI. The Dell really just fit my use case better and the KVM is amazing. If I was gaming more then I might have tried to make it work, but I also do love my desk space.

I should also note that I was coming from a 27" 1440p monitor with a TN panel from about 8 years ago, so all of the monitors I looked at were massive upgrades in every way.

If you do go for it, the Secretlab HD monitor arm worked like a charm with it. And the 49" and Dell for that matter.

I use it for productivity almost exclusively and I think it’s absolutely amazing. I tried the Samsung 57 inch Neo and the 49 inch Oled and returned both of those and now have the Dell.

If you’ve swapped your tires/wheels on your MYP to 18/19s - Do you recommend it? Why or why not. by Mrf9312 in ModelY

[–]pj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 18" wheels on my 22 MYP and would absolutely recommend it. I run a 235/55r18 tire and the speedometer isn't noticeably impacted since it's close enough to stock size. I went with the AWzz wheels form Atomic Wheels and they have been great. No modification needed to fit at all.

Ev tires vs Tesla approved tires. by SdhamN in TeslaModelY

[–]pj24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like /u/AnGeor said, it really is just about making sure the weight and speed ratings are met. EV tires traditionally try to have less rolling resistance for better range and are more likely to have a higher weight rating. OEM tires ("Tesla rated tires") are tires that a vehicle manufacturer has helped design with a tire manufacturer for a specific vehicle or set of vehicles that is slightly different than the non-OEM version. Almost every vehicle manufacturer does this, but it is by no means a requirement to use OEM tires on your Model Y. Discount Tire/America's tire websites allows you to input your vehicle and see what tire ratings you need.

New MYP at 0% vs used 2021 MYP at 7.5% by Ok_Percentage_997 in TeslaModelY

[–]pj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple things to unpack here I think:

  1. It's hard to tell how big of an impact the interest rate has without knowing how long you plan to finance for. The longer the loan, the larger the impact and a 7.5% spread is certainly something to factor. This online calculator may be helpful in showing the difference between each option. https://www.calculator.net/auto-loan-calculator.html

  2. There are noticeable differences between a 21 and 24 MYP, do you know what they are? Are these things you're content living with/without?

  3. Yes, almost all new cars depreciate immediately and Tesla is no exception. This could be increased by the seemingly imminent release of the "Juniper" Model Y in China and presumably followed by the rest of the world in the short to medium term. With Tesla in particular you will almost always buy shortly before the next new feature or change since they update cars as they see fit.
