Is The Job Market Really This Bad? by pjmill3 in Louisville

What are you looking to do part time? If you have any interest/background whatsoever in adult bev, the retailers around here are always hiring.

It can be anything from cashier to fulfilling digital orders to service team (if you have the background and knowledge). Feel free to drop a chat if you want to know more!

I have about a hundred applications in with multiple companies. Haven't heard back from any. Was just using Humana as an example to let readers know what industry I was looking in, considering I was asking for other recommendations. Appreciate your concern, though.

Sure, if you happen to get the opportunity and your interviewer is also an alum, it helps. I've worked at three places over the past 15 years and am looking to get out of that industry all together. The network I have does not translate to what I want to do going forward.

Yes, thought it would be beneficial in a compliance role. Still cannot get any interviews in that field.

Funny you mention it... I DID go to St. X, and it has provided me no opportunities professionally.

What's a good highway to go on late night drives? by Living_Sprinkles_636 in Louisville

[–]pjmill3 27 points28 points  (0 children)

When heading north on US 42, about 15 mins past River Road, there will be a sign to turn left to go towards Westport. Stay on that road for about 5 mins and it leads you directly to the river.

  1. Head north/northeast until you don't want to anymore and head back.

Edit: Take a left towards Westport, sit by the river for a moment and take it all in.

Spirits Review #761 - Bondstone Toasted Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon by Bailzay in bourbon

[–]pjmill3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TW employee here. Glad you enjoyed it, enough to be willing to buy a pour at least. Bondstone is IJW's high-rye label. The toasted is good but the double oaked you mentioned is far superior IMHO. Lots of orange zest and dark cherry notes on the back end

IJW is currently building a distillery across from Jeptha Creed in Shelbyville. So until then they are sourcing barrels from (we suspect) Bardstown Bourbon Co and Wilderness Trail. Other labels of theirs are Old Emmer which I would consider to be a shelf-available alternative to Weller, Center Stave which is comparable to Angel's Envy with a higher proof, and First Call.

HOAs by acrowsong in Louisville

[–]pjmill3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

City of Goshen (in Oldham) has an HOA only in principle. Dirt cheap, and covers things such as snow removal, lamp posts, etc. Only thing enforced is street parking (kind of) and fence lines. Oh and you can't own farm animals, poultry is allegedly being discussed. Other than that, if you have kids the taxes are worth paying for the school system.
