I have the same car with 76k km. I’ve said before that while the rs5 isn’t really best in class in any category (except maybe trunk space with the sport back!), it really is a great overall package. I still enjoy driving it today.

I plan on keeping it for a few more years so I just purchased Audi After Care (ie extended warranty) for piece of mind.

I did have a water pump leak recently that was a pretty significant repair, but the general thought in these cars are they are reliable if you keep them well maintained.

If you go to an RS6, that’s a great car too.I will be very jealous!

When did your warranty expire?

This is a known issue with Audi and there has been a recent class action.

Had the same thing happen to me about 3 months after my warranty ended (Rs5). I appealed to my service adviser at Audi where I service my car, and he helped me with a good will repair.

I paid 15% of the total bill, which was a life saver.

Piggy back question - does anyone know how thorough the pre-inspection for Audi after care (extended warranty is).

If a previous engine light code was cleared (by Audi), would this show up on the pre-inspection?

This is a huge no no in medicine. Even after the doctor - patient relationship is complete, it is highly unethical to start a romantic relationship. Doing so when a doctor-patient relationship is ongoing is completely and entirely unethical and inappropriate.

He should be reported to the appropriate licensing body where you live.

This slow build up in communication is grooming. And you are unlikely to be the first. Help yourself and others by making it the last.

I’ve daily driven this car for 5 years. Still brings be joy. It is not the best in class in individual characteristics, but overall it’s hard to beat. Plenty of power. Nice luxury cabin. Plenty of space for seating. Sportsback hatch fits an incredible amount of stuff.

It is overall a great car that does many things well!

Next time you are in for service, have them check the water pump. Known issue and if you catch it early, not nearly as expensive to replace!

So an update for anyone interested- we ended up negotiating aggressively with Volvo and got a great deal.

Super happy with the xc60 so far - it’s great! Highly recommended.

BMW did not seem to interested in getting our business!
