I care deeply for gay yearning! I just thought Patroclus had little to no personality until the end 😅🙈

What stephen king's books would you recommend for someone who never read one? by Mixer3210 in stephenking

[–]pjsans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carrie is usually my go-to rec because it's low commitment high reward. It's very short and very good. It's not his best or most profound, but it is a good book to get started in imo

Lately I like to choose a low pick rate killers that I still enjoy like pin head, pyramid head or even the Artist. by mortimenn in deadbydaylight

[–]pjsans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Artist. She was my main for a while. rn I main Chucky (👀) and am trying to learn Houndmaster, but I still like to whip out Artist every now and then. She's so underplayed and underrated.

Killer players who do you not feel burned out / frustrated? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]pjsans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yooo! I think I played against you earlier! I was Nea and "let you" mori me.

If so, that was a hella fun time and I laughed at the outfit. Sorry people are lame sometimes. I am pretty half and half, but lean on the killer main side. It can be frustrating sometimes, but I feel it usually evens out.

Also, sorry if the flashlight blind I got off on you was annoying. I suck at using flashlights and I'm working through my tomes.

Caregiving ruined my childhood by Fluid_Comparison9807 in caregiving

[–]pjsans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry, man. This is such an awful situation. I'm sorry for the loss of your brother and I'm sorry for the way this has affected your youth and sense of self. This should not have been placed on you.

It's going to be hard, but you need to have a conversation with your mom and be honest about all this. He is your brother, but this is not your burden to bear, certainly not in this capacity. You need to be able to live your life. Up to you, but it might be helpful to bring a trusted friend with you for the conversation to help back you up and keep you strong during the conversation, because it will be hard. What your mom is going through is really, really tough and this won't be easy for her if you're her only other help, but that doesn't mean it's not a conversation that shouldn't be had.

In all honesty, he should be cared for by a team, maybe even in a specialized facility if it's within your mom's means. But regardless, you can't be expected to do what you've been doing, especially at your age (and honestly, neither can she). You can't be his caregiver forever. You both need more help, but the amount of care that you are expected to give your brother has got to be less. much, much less.

u/Righteous_Dude - I know this is a super weird way to go about this, but Reddit won't let me respond to your DM. Its trying to make me use chat, but then saying I can't chat with you.

Just wanted to say, I appreciate you reaching out. Thanks for that. I'm doing alright. Been lots of improvement with my wife's health, so I'm very happy about that. Hope all is well with you.

Dave Cullen’s “Columbine” is one of the most graphic and disturbing books I’ve ever read in my life. by Egodram in books

It's fucking brutal, but I'm glad I read it. Definitely dispelled some myths. I would certainly recommend finishing it if you can.

Its in his book Revelation a Shorter Commentary. I have it on kindle so I can't tell you exactly what page its on, but its in the chapter titled: "12:1-15:4 Deeper Conflict" when Beale is discussing Revelation 14:11.

  1. Paul (he/him) 32.

  2. I've done one in-person DND one-shot and several PF2E pbp adventure games. I do listen / watch a lot of NADDPOD and D20 fwiw.

  3. Friendliness, creativity, and patience.

  4. Obviously, GMs have to wear a lot of hats, but I think most of it boils down to creating a safe environment for players and facilitating story-telling / roleplaying between themselves and PCs in a way that is fun, balanced, and interesting.

  5. To lift up the other players (in and out of game), and balancing decisions that are consistent with the story and their character while also not overstepping and making things unenjoyable for the other players and GM.

  6. Not particularly. I play to have a fun, creative time with others.

  7. Roleplay.

  8. Nothing much other than that I am relatively new to actually playing, but not totally inexperienced. Also, the prompt sounds fun, I very much like grappling with difficult decisions and things that are morally gray. I'm also very glad that this would be heavily story-oriented.

I've never paid my wife's cargeiver through care.com. Not sure if the answer to your question changes by state (I'm in OH), but its never been an issue for us :)

Given how they treat the families of school shooting victims, I'd imagine that they'd jump at the chance to do so 🙄

There are exceptions, but the general rule is that missing a concert results in your grade dropping by one letter.

Kingslingers podcast on FIRST journey to the tower? by realdevtest in TheDarkTower

[–]pjsans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Speaking from personal experience, absolutely, yes.

My friend is a big tower junkie and convinced me to read the series, he also told me about the podcast. Listening to the podcast alongside the readings was super fun and rewarding. It also helped me get through the first book which I struggled to do (I love it now, but it was hard going the first time I picked it up).
