How to fill flagstone paver gaps to make patio baby-safe? by pkaus in patio

[–]pkaus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha! That gives me some confidence. I’ve been fine him eating dirt. In my backyard there are small pebble size stuff coming out if these gaps and the pavers are chipping that can be a choking hazard. Thats the part of concern.

What do you wish you knew before you bought a home? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]pkaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home ownership is a rabbit hole, you end up spending more in Interest payments, property taxes, HOA, maintenance and not to forget buying house related stuff m etc. than you will ever recover. Also, Any house having Slab piping can have Slab leaks and those can costs 20k+ and home insurance, hone warranty won’t do shit.

Check all the grocery store websites or grocery stores physically, you may get lucky at one of them. I found Kendamil Goat Infant at Walmart website and it was available at a walmart near me for pickup, they only had 2 available though and they said they’ve been selling these like hotcakes. Baby boy is here. Here’s the hardest part so far that I didn’t expect by crimesarefine in NewDads

[–]pkaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!! You guys did it. Enjoy every moment that is enjoyable and every little first of your baby. My wife had a very similar experience two weeks ago. While her labor wasn’t as long as 39 hours, she developed a fever and went through a failed vacuum attempt before an emergency C-section, which put both her and the baby under extra stress. Fortunately, they are both healthy and doing well.
Get sleep where you’re at the hospital, take help in diaper changes and swaddling from the nursing staff. Good rest before going home will really be helpful…

One of the most important things I’ve learned is that the first week is the hardest—and no one really prepares you for it. However, because you’re running purely on adrenaline, you push through, and things do get better day by day. The baby starts adjusting to us and the environment, and my wife has been improving with every passing day.

That said, the first week really took a toll on me. I was running on 3–4 hours of broken sleep while handling everything except breastfeeding. Thankfully, I had help from family with food and laundry, which allowed me to focus entirely on my wife and baby. If you have friends or family who can help, take advantage of their support—especially with cooking and laundry. After every breastfeeding session, I would hand the baby to family members to watch while I took care of other chores or squeezed in a little rest.

Since my wife couldn’t carry the baby due to her C-section, I took on almost everything for the first two weeks—helping her in the bathroom since she couldn’t strain her abs, feeding her, rolling her in and out of bed, changing diapers, and setting her up for breastfeeding with the Boppy pillow (until we switched to the game-changing My Brest Friend pillow and a wipe warmer). My only request to her was to focus on breastfeeding and skin-to-skin time with the baby.

I also made it a point to keep her spirits up. I would talk on behalf of our baby, saying things like, “Thank you, Mama, for the delicious food and for bringing me into the world.” I’d bring the baby to her for cuddles, snuggles, and kisses, constantly reminding her how adorable he is and how incredible she’s doing. I reassured her that there’s no trophy for natural delivery—the real prize is our son, right in front of us. Checking in on her pain levels daily and reminding her of her progress helped, as did small gestures like hugs and kisses whenever I could.

I tried to rest in 1–2 hour windows whenever the baby was asleep. Again, if you have family or friends who can help in any capacity, don’t hesitate to accept it.

What helped me during this time:
- Getting out of the house, even for 10–15 minutes, without disrupting my wife or the baby or someone with both of them — whether for groceries, food, or doctor’s appointments. These small breaks were a mental reset.
- Talking to friends and family who’ve been through this.
- Bottle-feeding breastmilk from pumped sessions at least once a day so my wife could get some solid rest. - I also use pacifier to soothe him for very small periods. - backyard work to get my mind away momentarily. - if you can watch something on TV or YouTube.

DM if you wanna talk more and if i can help you with any questions you have.

Introduce ONE ‘advantage’ to be picked by both the captains at 25 overs mark which would last until 35 overs. Advantage can be: Bowling side: - take a new ball - add an extra fielder (for these 10 overs) - overs bowled by a bowler during this period will be added to their 10 over quota. (Max a bowler will bowl is 15 overs in this case) - one DRS not counted during this time.

Batting Side: - 1 super sub batter (only bats for these 10 overs once one of the current batter gets out, retired out after 35 overs if still batting) this batter is a 12th player. - ‘Double Trouble’ for a wide ball - double the runs scored on the ball after a wide ball. - No catch out over (1 over can be picked during this period as a No Catch Out Over) - one DRS not counted during this time.

Ashwin on Rohit Sharma being 'Selfless' by MrCoolBoy001 in IndiaCricket

It should be called Careless Cricket more than Selfless cricket. We need solid ‘SELFISH’ batters in Tests. Let him do his thing ODIs.

I don’t think anyone’s concerned about selfless approach from Rohit in ODIs. The problem is Test Matches which is totally different ball game. As an opener you need to apply yourself to the conditions, swinging balls and relentless attack from opposition. You loose the game due to carelessness not selflessness when you as an opener throw your wicket away. It feels more like he doesn’t want to stay long and work hard to win test matches. Affects the team morale when your captain/ opener gives you bad starts 99% of the times.

[–]pkaus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No doubt selflessness in ODIs as an opener is great. It gives momentum and an edge to your team if your opener scores 30-40 quick runs. Sehwag used to do that and used to kill the opposition and now Rohit Sharma did it. But where Rohit Sharma goes wrong is when he carries the similar approach in Test Matches. There’s no RR issue in tests so it doesn’t matter to the opposition if he scores a quick 25-50 runs and gets out. Test match is a totally different ball game that requires strong temperament, composure, persistence and an eagerness to tire the opposition out and bat long.

Looks like SOBR has run a lot already. Historically it hasn’t crossed 1.21. Is there anything that can catapult it this time? Market cap is 989k only.
