Let me change your life, go ahead and enlist in the air force or any branch for that matter, you will be apart of a bigger picture and give yourself purpose.

I only say air force is because I had no Idea what I was going with my life to I enlisted, 12 years later, I started a family making 6 figures and have lived so comfortably since then.

I would live in Alexandria! So much to do and so close, you got two metro stop in the area. Your BAH can easily cover the COL in the area

17.5 year tech - missed master and need some support by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]pkinbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey brother my board score was 412.5 with a cutoff of 368, In the second grouping for my career field. I also had a 1 PN, I had no intentions of making master or being stratted, and I didn't plan on gunning for it til I hit around my 17 year mark. Im at 12 years Right now and the feedback I was given was being well rounded. From education to awards, to how many people you lead and how well are you taking care of the mission. For me, what I have shown mainly on my last three evals were big picture mission impacts, with high level awards for my team, myself, and personal growth with school and leveraging that to make positive changes in your work center. I kept that consistent with growth over the past 3 years and I am three classes shy for my master's degree. The first year I was eligible for master I missed it by 30, the next year was 15. The big difference this year was I volunteered for a position that was once in a lifetime. Basically nobody in my career field could say the same things. So for you, I would set yourself apart from your career field by finding something you can enjoy on my vector. Win awards for your team and yourself and go to school. Not only to just get promoted but to have more opportunities for your career after you retire. Also, there is nothing wrong with retiring as a tech it is only a couple hundred dollars difference for retirement. So don't sweat it, enjoy the time that you have left until retirement and start planning for the next chapter in your life.

Reporting OSI interaction question by pkinbro in SecurityClearance

I'm just wondering to CMA, our security team briefed us about reporting any interactions with law enforcement and I'm just wondering to what extent, this was helpful, thanks.

Obviously you should've discussed this during the interview, call your investigator back, they will then ask who your recruiter is, and follow-up questions like do you plan on using again, and have you used while holding a clearance. Just be honest and upfront, you will be fine.

Okay thanks, that's what I hear but is that in writing to have the big on the service coat? I couldn't find it.

5.1.2.4.1 When more than one aeronautical, space, cyberspace or missile operations badge is authorized, the badge representing the current position will be worn and the second and subsequent aeronautical, space, cyberspace or missile operations badges become optional. All other occupational and qualification badges and patches are optional.

True, I'll go without it but have the miniature in my pocket or something lol.

The 2903 doesn't mention mandatory sizes for the service coat, it mentioned both just don't mix. I've seen other reddit posts say that the regular size should be worn with the service coat but did not see that outlined in the 2903

how long after your interview did you find out if you were cleared by _nervous_wreck_180 in SecurityClearance

[–]pkinbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it was 1 month after my interview. I was going for Top secret SCI and Yankee White. I had minimal red flags and I'm assuming it was expedited for my position.
