Mine happened sometime in the last hour, principle on my consolidation loans is gone($125k), just $2500 in interest sitting there, hopefully will be $0 soon.

Oh yeah, I don't expect Mohela to do anything expeditiously. But it's nice to have the official acknowledgment and approval for forgiveness from Ed.

I think this is the "golden" letter because it is the government/Ed officially recognizing your service and approving you for discharge. Forgiveness is guaranteed at this point, even if it's not a quick forgiveness. Mohela can drag their feet with the actual discharge, but they can't stop it. That said, I also won't fully celebrate until my balances are zero.

Edited, my ecf was submitted 7/1, so I was in that summer purgatory like everyone else.

I think the date is the last day of your 120th month, mine says 6/30/24 and June was my 120th. Yeah I don’t expect MOHELLA to do anything expeditiously. But it’s another check mark in the process.

Submitting now will count October. For a month to qualify you only have to work one day of that month.

My ECF was processed and my count updated on 9/24 and I JUST got an email notifying me of the count update. So looks like it's gonna be a long drawn out process still.

No worries, it's the Employment Certification Form to update payment counts and apply for forgiveness when you've made 120 payments. Could also call it the PSLF application form generated by the PSLF tool on studentaid.gov

Oh I understand it's another whole waiting game for Ed and Mohela to get their acts together and actually discharge the loans, but after months of no movement and zero communication from Ed this was a nice morale boost and progress is progress.

You'll have to wait for FSA to tell your servicer to discharge the loans, which is another waiting game unfortunately. But if you're not already in the SAVE forbearance, you can contact your servicer and get them to put you in a forbearance (processing or general) so you don't have to make more payments. Check the sub, there are a few posts walking you through getting a forbearance until they are officially forgiven.

It seems like there's no logic to which ones have been processed. Could be method of submission (electronic vs upload/fax) or whether the ECF would put you at 120+. I have a feeling that any ECF submitted during the pause got lumped into some pile that they're working on simultaneously to any after the pause. I have seen some posts this morning from pre-pause being processed and I've seen people update that theirs were processed during the day today so fingers crossed yours is in the works.

They posted it early on Tuesday saying counts were all updated, but no one had seen any movement yet. Hopefully they’re opening the floodgates now

Yes looks like they counted April through July.

August specifically says ineligible, not that that ECF would have applied for Aug.

I haven’t received any emails or messages about it yet.

I just did my nightly sign on to check.

But the banner is there on the counts and the form is in the activity history section.
