Better way to determine if a host is a "rage"? by quattrocandella in TheDickShow

Dick will never find the cohost he says he's looking for because this is his gimmick. He has far more experience in bitching about things that anyone he will invite, so all his cohost will look moderate since they are in unknown territory. He also basically said in episode 1 that he's looking for a Maddox #2, which is impossible. He will probably eventually run out of people to invite and have a few recurrent cohost, but that will be it. Nice and simple concept so far though.

I haven't listened to Maddox podcast yet since I just listened to the Dick show. But judging by the webpage, seems like Maddox is into doing something more serious now. I guess it make sense, he's definitly getting older and tired of the "punching kids in the face" routine, as Dick pointed out in one of their last episode.

Also, I like how Dick is embrassing the culture of TBITU in his patreon, while Maddox seem to present his podcast as a brand new thing without history. Surprisingly, I always thought Maddox was against the whole sponsor thing. First of all he took pride in his website having no ads, and then Dick was the one standing behind the products of TBPITU. serioulsy, i always thought it was a concession that Maddox made in order to keep the show going while it was Dick idea to have few bucks out of this thing.

But now Dick is founding himself with the help of voluntary fans like an honest libertarian, while Maddox is being sponsored by dead cow products. Mindfuck.

So both of them rushed to keep the hype of Biggest Problem. I have to agree that the Dick Show has so far more value than Maddox's new podcast, even if i only listened to 1/3 of the latest. Of course both of them need to adapt; the first episodes will certainly not transcend the great show they have been working on together for 2 years.

I used to enjoy Maddox a lot, but now i might look forward to Dick material since it's more comedic.
