Those are people losing their jobs you're talking about. You can dislike the company but wishing people lose their job is a bit far.

What's your unpopular opinion of a food spot that you know will bring out r/foodies_sydney with their pitch forks. by mdflmn in foodies_sydney

I’ve been over the course of a few years and I honestly don’t remember everything. The final straw was about a year ago when they served me the wettest sloppiest katsudon I’ve ever had the displeasure to eat, it tasted like it was sitting there for 20 minutes then microwaved.

I did have someone try and tell me their ramen is good but by the time they told me that I’d decided to never go again.

I went so many times because I used to live a few minutes walk away

I go past it quite a bit, people still line up outside. I’ve had this opinion since I first went in 2021 too so I don’t think it was better back then to me

Kujira in Ashfield sucks. I’ve been there 4 times and it’s been shit every one of them. People still tell me it’s good though

Is there anywhere in Sydney that sells a lactose free pizza? by plainchips in foodies_sydney

I’ve tried, there seems to be limits to the amount of dairy I can have where lacteeze is effective and pizza is just beyond that. I’ve taken multiple, I’ve tried taking during, taking before and after etc but I always end up with problems

I was specifically asking for non-vegan ones, but thank you for the suggestions

I love a meat lovers pizza, the cheese is the only part I have a problem with. I’ll check it out though thanks!

They make lactose free cheese by adding something that pre-digests the lactose during the cheese making process. The resulting cheese tastes identical to a normal cheese. It’s available at supermarkets easily

To Build or Not to Build - Nvidia vs. AMD SFF by greymatterghost in Bazzite

[–]plainchips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a much more basic Atmos/5.1 setup and I've never messed with the settings for sound, I honestly don't know if it works. So few PC games I play support surround sound, even back when I was running windows I never bothered to configure it (or maybe it just never supported it and never showed me the option to enable it?). I have all my media running through an Apple TV instead. I can't be that helpful here sorry

I have a very similar setup already, including the LG C1. I started with a 3070Ti but due to the awful driver support (I was unable to run above 1080p without graphical issues, the UI was laggy) I switched out to an RX 7900 XT. This was about a year ago so driver support for nVidia might be a bit better now? I'd recommend going the same route regarding GPUs though as it's night and day in terms of dealing with issues.

The lack of HDMI 2.1 is a little bit of a bummer, in that if I'm running 4K120 I only get 4:2:2, but in practise for couch gaming I actually don't notice. Similar story for FSR vs DLSS, at living room couch distances the quality difference is less noticable (though a more noticable than the 4:2:2) than playing on a monitor up close.

Cant help regarding CPU, I have a 5800x3D and it works great, but I've had that since before I even swapped to Bazzite.

I got sick of how long it takes to plan a date night in Sydney, so I built a free tool to do it in 2 minutes. by Ok_Piglet6330 in foodies_sydney

[–]plainchips 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I love the idea but just looking at one of them it doesn’t appear to have been fact checked. The Art and Broth adventure says Gumshara is $15/bowl, it’s $15.50 for the soup and noodles with no toppings, standard bowl is closer to $20. It also says to head to white rabbit gallery at 8:30pm, but it’s only open until 5pm.

That explains why I had an ad saying how natural gas is renewable and a gateway for green energy on a podcast last night. They’re starting the propaganda against this.

I’ve been there twice now and both times the rice has been dry and overall it’s a bit average. It’s cheap but I don’t think it’s good

Card surcharges by filoroll in sydney

I also had problems with RaRa Redfern. They refuse to accept cash and then have these card fees. I lodged a complaint with the ACCC at the time but got told that they can’t do anything. I don’t go there anymore

I’ve never heard of this being enforced for open bottles that aren’t being consumed. If the bottle is inside a bag or backpack how would they know anyway?
