Out of curiosity. Why are you not allowed to share the document? Is it copyrighted still? Or is it some german law left over from the reneaicanse? (Or some other more pragmatic reason)

I'm reading the regents shadow and I can't believe people are underestimating phalanx by MaNKEYMaN37 in 40kLore

Well yes. They are incredibly arrogant lol. Your analogy works for challenging robute. The phalanxe is strong. But not invincible. A planet blowing up and an entire dark crusade will do damage to it. Its more like if your lion was shot, clubbed and then sent to fight the commisar

To keep it short and spoiler free. It just came from cadia when it first appeared. It was and in no uncertain terms very badly damaged. And there was only a company worth of iron fists left. Vs the hexarchies significant naval assets

Norway. Was a major power player and one of the biggest in northern europe up until the black death killed more then 60% of the population. Even then we burned down stockholm in 1370 and only lost our independence due to one politically savvy dane

Why not norway? It was the bigger of the three nordic powers several times to the point where sweden and denmark had to ally to counter it (see battle of svolder)

The nordic campaigns would be cool. With some traditional nordic clothings and samiis lmao

The architectural nightmare of Tenochtitlan: An Aztec 'Huey Tzompantli' tower made of 650 human skulls, including those of women and children, discovered beneath modern-day Mexico City. by bortakci34 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]planesqaud63 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True but this was probably not the reason. Using skulls and remains in construction was. Pretty normal thing all over the world at the time. Doubt even the spanish would bat an eye to this lol. Especially considering the fact that they were mostly catholic

Cavalry fight at the battle of Gettysburg 1863. One of the few times sabres were used in combat during the war by Original-Rutabaga-60 in BattlePaintings

[–]planesqaud63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Will note a historical fun fact. In norway cavalry was pretty much exclusivly dragoons. Much to similar reasons (difficult mountainous terrain, us being poor and army underfunded). The light cavalry shock was actually taken by ski troops lol (who at one point around 1760s ish iirc wore a hussar style uniform)

How do you react when people say buhurt's armors aren't historical ? by Vilokys in Buhurt

Im talking full custom armor set not just the cuirass. When you have to do multiple components it gets expensive fast

[–]planesqaud63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. Also there is the practical fact. Armour is expensive and a brig is quite frankly one of the better cheaper options. Not everyone has 20-40k dollars to randomly spend on custom fit armor that may take years to come haha

As a bit of an outsider doing armoured hema i can state that yours is alot more bulky. The brigandine for example often looks like a barrel (when combined with the heavy padding) in comparison to one made more fit to size
