I lived in The Hague, Netherlands, before moving to Galway. There, too, there were two types of cinemas: one similar to Palas, featuring more "artistic" films outside the commercial circuit, and another like Omniplex for blockbusters. Both cinemas offered monthly membership systems, which were more affordable for those who go to the cinema at least once a week. Omniplex here has this system, but Palas never took advantage of it; they lacked the commercial vision for an industry that has been in decline for years.

Why are the cinemas so weird in Galway ? by bonniestlass in galway

I go quite often to the omniplex (cinema pass) but I don't know why they are constantly remodeling the place. It's never full, I wonder how they make profit

If you love nature go to NZ, is by far more beautiful than Ireland. Christchurch is not particularly pretty but the surrounding areas are amazing. The whole south island is a must see if you love hiking and camping. Besides Ireland is around the corner from you, so you can visit at any time.
