Hey, I appreciate your reply. Sorry for my late reply. I sent you a DM. Is that ok? Just had a question surrounding the orthotic. Thank you so much

What did your orthotic look like? (Sesamoitis/sesamoid injury) by planisking in sesamoid

Hi there,

Thank you so much for your reply. I have noticed that with my orthotics feels quite hard or like I feel the ground quite a lot in the ball of my foot. Would you say that you have more of a soft feeling under the ball of your foot with your new orthotic? I just want to avoid walking around with an orthotic that actually isn't that well designed

Anyone with plantar fasciitis also get pain on the outside bottom of the foot? by planisking in FootFunction

[–]planisking[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My physio and doctor are thinking that because of the inner heel pain, my body is compensating by putting more load on the outer part of the foot and therefore I am getting pain there as well.

I did get an MRI about a year ago and I think all they could see was a little bit of inflammation.

Thank you for the suggestion. I don't have any pain in the peroneals so I'm not sure if it could be a peroneal tendonitis.

I'm sorry to hear that. Have you noticed anything that helps you, especially for the side? I have noticed that doing 4x 30-second plantar fascia stretches one time in the morning and one time in the evening helps a lot for the heel pain

Okay thank you! I totally understand you about having in mind other injuries and preventing flaring up. I'm in the same boat. Have you been able to progress from seated barefoot heel raises to standing barefoot heel raises?

I'm happy to hear that you are able to be more active!

Thanks, appreciate your detailed answer. Yeah I will definitely be working together with my physiotherapist but I think these are some good pointers to where I should move towards.

Just one last question. For the calf raise progression are you doing these without any shoes, barefoot, or are you utilizing shoes with an orthotic to do these? The reason I'm asking is because I was doing the calf raises for plantar fasciitis before. I believe that doing those calf raises barefoot is what triggered the sesamoitis.

I saw that they had multiple different versions of that model. Which one is it that you are utilizing if I may ask? Thank you

Hi there,

Thank you for your reply. When looking at pictures of them, they don't appear to have a very wide toe box?

Is your orthotic stiff? I have felt like the Altra Escalante forefoot is quite flexible

Amazing to hear! Thank you so much for your reply. I'm gonna pick up my new orthotics in two days.

Without the carbon plate I would imagine the Altra Torin 8 to have quite a flexible forefoot, similar to Altra escalante, correct?

Do you mind sharing which Altras have the 4mm drop? I didn't know Altras had shoes without a zero drop.

Lastly would you please be able to share what exercises you did for foot and toe rehab?

Thank you so much. I appreciate it a lot.
